Firstly, welcome to the four dimensional political quiz! This is to test your political alignment on a more complex level. I believe that instead of belonging to monolithic groups labeled as "the right" or "the left," that each individual is unique; and when confronted with perplexing questions, that their intellectual eclectisy will be revealed. Therefore, I conclude there are four variables to be tested: 1. Diplomacy (Nationalist vs. Internationalist) 2. Civics (Libertarian vs. Authoritarian) 3. Economics (Capitalist vs. Socialist) 4. Government Structure (Statist vs. Anarchist) Many political quizzes mash these four ideas together. For a one dimensional quiz, right vs left on one axis. For a two dimensional quiz, the economic right vs. economic left on one axis, and Authoritarian vs. Libertarian on another. I believe this system simplifies politics to an unethical level. There are more than just two mutually exclusive components to one's political alignment. The reason I chose these four are because one is not mutually exclusive to the other. An individual can be anti-immigration, yet a staunch domestic liberal, and also believe in a laissez faire economic system. To further provide evidence, this individual could also believe in a monarchic government. They would argue that a monarchic structure wouldn't always mean lead to the same Economic, Diplomatic, or Civic decisions, and that the structure only implies the potentiality of control. Looking to the state of Bhutan would follow for real world evidence. I do not believe in everything this individual believes in, but I'm sure this proves my point on the complexity of political discourse.I hope this quiz can further enlighten that complexity. Many questions are taken from mainstream political tests like The Political Compass, but many are newly written questions addressing the complexity of human belief. In my world, believing one thing doesn't always mean you have to believe in another. We all have differences and similarities. And given modern political discourse, I hope that we can learn that many within different political parties have actually a bunch in common! Thank you for reading my stammerings if you did. So without further adieu, have fun!
