I'm usually pretty good with this sort of thing, but nothing very good has come to mind yet.

I'm finding myself having a fairly constant need for one in here and "Loony Lefty" just doesn't really capture their essence, you know?

Hey! Maybe we could have a contest!

  2. by Curt_Anderson on September 20, 2023 12:42 pm
The equivalent would be those who claim without evidence that the DNC primaries are rigged. Indy comes to mind. Sanders wasn't even close in the popular vote in 2016 or 2020. If the Democrats really had the ability to fabricate votes in favor of their preferred candidate, we'd never lose general elections or have close elections.

The uninformed don't realize the RNC primaries are less democratic (small d) than the DNC primaries. The GOP has a winner-take all-system. So if the second place finisher in a state has 49% of the popular vote, the are not better off than somebody who gained 1% of the vote. Bernie collected a lot delegates by being a close second in some of the primaries, that's kept him in the race when the math was against him. There was a lot of Bernie Bros. hope for California in 2016

Also, the DNC allows non-party members to run in their primaries. Only Republicans can run in the GOP primaries. The RNC this year demands that all candidates swear allegiance and to support whoever is the eventual nominee.

  3. by Ponderer on September 20, 2023 12:55 pm

Curt, there's just so much to consider about (for want of a better term) "The Loony Left" when trying to wrap them all up into a single derogatory epithet. And especially when the MAGA Republicans have already copyrighted so many of the conspiracies and tactics that the far left shares with them. It's getting harder and harder to distinguish between the two anymore.

  4. by Indy! on September 20, 2023 7:36 pm

Good lord. The MAGAts aren't the far right - they're the party faithful. The D equivalent would be YOU TWO! D party nutjobs who ignore reality (rigged elections admitted in court, "lefty" media lying us into war, Russia Rachel, Russia whining for 2 years about fictional Steele Dossier lies created by the Clinton Foundation, etc.. etc... etc...) Let's have a moment of honesty here... you both own one of these hats pictured below - don't you. 😌

  5. by Curt_Anderson on September 20, 2023 11:17 pm
    Indy,
I believe Ponderer had in the mind the conspiracist supporters of Donald Trump. There isn't a conspiracy they won't fall for. They believe the election was rigged in 2020, even though Biden's popular vote was almost exactly what RCP predicted, not to mention Biden's win was proven be recounts, "forensic audits" and 60+ court cases. Similarly, you have the fact-free notion that Bernie Sanders was cheated by the DNC.

They eschew the "mainstream" media in favor of whoever agrees with them on Twitter or the basement broadcasters on YouTube. Just like you.

Regarding the Steele Dossier, which was created and originally funded by Republicans (the Washington Beacon), you and the MAGA hats are in lockstep. Btw, Rachel was right, right, right about Russian influence.

Several key allegations [in the Steele Dossier] made in June 2016 were later corroborated by the January 2017 report by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence,[3][4] namely that Vladimir Putin favored Trump over Hillary Clinton;[3][5] that he personally ordered an "influence campaign" to harm Clinton's campaign and to "undermine public faith in the US democratic process"; that he ordered cyberattacks on both parties;[3] and that many Trump campaign officials and associates had numerous secretive contacts with Russian agents.

Honestly, there is hardly a statement you have made here that HtS isn't quick to agree with. Including your views on "the Swamp" and Ukraine.

Exactly, Indy. And, this proves that people for whom po could be the Poster Child, are truly deranged.

Trump's the least conservative of all of the 024 GOP candidates and...to point to po's derangement, in particular, Trump's the least radical on trans issues,... abortion, too.

I don't agree with indy much. Sometimes I read his posts and get a chuckle out of them. But in this, I agree.

You two have never left (so to speak) the pedojoe talking points. curt. we have mocked you to try to get you to see this in a gentle way, which you absolutely refuse to do. Regardless of the situation, you will always defend pedojoe. You even (still to this day) his mockingly funny for anyone that has any sort of military training, exfiltration from Afghanistan. pedojoe's generals have left him drown on his own puke on this one. And the CIA is uncannily quiet (meaning this thing in their charge was worse than the Bay of Pigs). And yet y'all are the one's that are part of the dwindling minority that believe pedojoe is the one.

Age doesn't matter here. Psychological age does (Walk like a joebiden...). He's got the shuffle. He doesn't know not to read directions off the prompter. If the "man" weren't a pawn of yours, he'd be the laughingstock of the world. Oh. Wait, he is that.... You wonder why Putin didn't go in during trumpsters régime? There's your reason.

"I believe Ponderer had in the mind the conspiracist supporters of Donald Trump." -Curt

Precisely, Curt. The ones who go to his rallies and such. I'll wager that very few of those who defend Trump to the death and donate money to him for his legal fees and carry big flags at his rallies and don't care how many felonies he commits as they cheer each new felony indictment on like they are actions of great heroic honor are "the party faithful" or are average "Republicans".

Yes, both MAGA Hatted morons and the Loony Left keep going on and on about how the Steele Dossier is a complete hoax when that's a rather great distance from the truth.

And you would think that if anyone found themselves in agreement with Hate as much as some people do would be a tremendous wake up call for them. But sadly, no.

Ah yes. The classic, time-honored MAGA Hat projection of the "I Know You Are But What Am I?" defense. Not bad, Indy!. You aren't quite on the same level of skill with it as the MAGA Hats are with that particular tactic as yet. But you've got the basics down pretty well.

I guess I'll just have to make do with "Loony Left" going forward. It's gonna keep bugging me though. There's gotta be something better. 😕

  10. by Ponderer on September 21, 2023 7:24 am

olde dude, you make some interesting points. It's just a shame that, as usual, your points have nothing at all to do with the topic being discussed.

The first step to getting better is admitting that you are sick. And even this baby step is a tremendous accomplishment for you, Bill. It's like your subconscious is pushing its way through to the light!

    Oh. Okay.

  15. by Indy! on September 21, 2023 8:49 am

    Curt's emotional support "facts"

Several key allegations [in the Steele Dossier] made in June 2016 were later corroborated by the January 2017 report by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence,[3][4] namely that Vladimir Putin favored Trump over Hillary Clinton;[3][5] that he personally ordered an "influence campaign" to harm Clinton's campaign and to "undermine public faith in the US democratic process"; that he ordered cyberattacks on both parties;[3] and that many Trump campaign officials and associates had numerous secretive contacts with Russian agents.

So let's see what crimes we have here...
    1. Vlad favored Trump over Clinton (OMG - Putin hated Hillary like everybody else on planet Earth! Unfortunately - not a crime.
    2. Vlad started an "influence campaign" spending upwards of $4200 on Facebook ads (😂) to "influence" people. Also - not a crime (and something the US does to every other country - our enemies and our friends
    3. He ordered cyber attacks on both parties - not unlike what the US does to every other country - our enemies and our friends
    4. Last - and most important to those paying attention because this is the only one that has anything at all to do with Trump (😂) - some of Trump's people talked to Russian agents. But obviously it wasn't that big of a deal because 2 years of investigations led to nothing but a couple of minor jail terms for "coffee boys" and Trump emerged unscathed even after two kabuki theater "impeachments" by the DNC Dog and Pony Show.

Yet Rachel felt she needed to talk about this NON-ISSUE for two years straight and never offer even so much as an apology for wasting your time and Pondy's.

  16. by Curt_Anderson on September 21, 2023 8:58 am
Umm, Indy, Putin’s financial support and boosting of Donald Trump is a crime.

“Federal law prohibits contributions, donations, expenditures (including independent expenditures) and disbursements solicited, directed, received or made directly or indirectly by or from foreign nationals in connection with any federal, state or local election.”

  17. by Indy! on September 21, 2023 8:58 am

Pondy's defense of the Steele nonsense:

Yes, both MAGA Hatted morons and the Loony Left keep going on and on about how the Steele Dossier is a complete hoax when that's a rather great distance from the truth.

So, it was a hoax - just not a complete hoax. Of course. Every good crackpot conspiracy theory throws in a couple verifiable facts to lend an air of legitimacy and cover the stench of the lies. Otherwise the smell of bullshit would be so overbearing even Rachel would not have been able to lie about it for more than... eh... 6-8 months (a year tops*).

*Okay - that last part was a "rather great distance from the truth". We all know Rachel, Russia, Rachel can lie her ass off every night as long as MSNBC is paying her ludicrous salary and the loony left are still watching.

    Ummm Curt?
    1. That part was not in your OP.
    2. If true (and you offered nothing other than your unwavering loony "left" faith in Ds to support it), why was Trump allowed to finish his term in office as opposed to... you know... jail? Since - according to you and Rachel Maddow - a "crime" was committed? 🤔

  19. by Curt_Anderson on September 21, 2023 9:33 am
"...why was Trump allowed to finish his term in office as opposed to... you know... jail?" ---Indy

In that case Trump was the beneficiary of a crime. The FEC doesn't overturn elections because of election law violations. They fine the candidates. Trump Has been fined about $1.5 million for other election law violations. That $1.5 million was no doubt paid by MAGA morons from their meager savings.

  21. by Indy! on September 21, 2023 6:18 pm

  26. by Indy! on September 22, 2023 8:29 am

    So bottom line...

    A. Trump didn't actually commit any crimes in the Russia, Rachel, Russia saga...

    OR

    B. The Ds are so incompetent they couldn't make any of the crimes stick...

    OR

    C. The Ds didn't WANT the crimes to stick because they wanted to keep Trump around because they're all working together to screw the rest of us.

Take your pick Curt and Pondy. 😘

  27. by Donna on September 22, 2023 8:41 am

The Dems impeached Trump twice and only a handful of Republicans voted to convict him which in Liz Cheney's case cost her her political career... which is why more Republicans didn't join her.

  28. by Indy! on September 22, 2023 9:12 am

Donna - you're not stupid. The ONLY time the Ds (pretend to) take ANY action at all is when they know they don't have the votes. They bring up progressive legislation ONLY when it is guaranteed to fail. They were well aware before the Trump "impeachments" there was absolutely no way Trump would be removed from office. You can blame it on the Rs or the rotating D villains (Manchin and Sinema most recently, Lieberman and other blue dogs in the past) - but the reality is the Ds are just a dog and pony show wholly owned by corporate America. The Ds will never do anything that is not pre-approved by them.

  29. by HatetheSwamp on September 22, 2023 9:21 am

Back to your original question, po.

I don't think there is an equivalent. Moronic though the MAGAs may be, they think for themselves as opposed to the dictates of the party leaders in DC.

The GOP is the home of openness and acceptance, diversity, tolerance, inclusion and, most of all FREETHINKING. The Dems eschew freethinking and independence.

    That can't be denied.

In DC, people who can't walk in total lockstep with Dem Party Fuhrers have to declare themselves Independents.

So, Bernie never affiliated with the Dems. Kyrsten Sinema has left the party... because subservience is demanded among Dems.

So, if there's an answer? Bernie. Kirsten...

    ...and, here, on SS? Indy!.

You and Curt and isle are brainless subservient.

    IMO.

    Except maybe by the voters.

    And for what?

She's as right-wing conservative as they come. She voted for pretty much everything that Trump wanted, if not everything. She was a Republican in good standing and was respected as one of their best.

Until she had the blasphemous audacity to try to represent her Republican party as being capable of respect for the law. That they were capable of holding their own to account. That the law applies to everyone, regardless of party. That her party had some semblance of basic patriotic duty and respect for the Constitution to at least not blow off a coup attemt by their president.

Why... How DARE She?!?! Why THAT is going too far! That is something that her pig-ignorant, Fox-lobotomized constituency could not very well stand for I tell you what! Why... their Orange Messiah is infallible! He could never commit any kind of crime whatsoever! And... if he did... it was because... he was allowed to! And it wasn't even a crime anyway! If he did it, it isn't a crime!

So "OFF WITH HER POLITICAL HEAD!!!", said her Republican voters.

If she wasn't willing to facilitate their Golden Calf in getting away with whatever criminality he wants to commit while wiping his fat orange ass with the Constitution, well then they'll just hafta elect some buddy who will!

    How deplorable they are.

As OD and pb have attempted to splain to you, the GOP party has changed. Trump isn't nearly as conservative as many of the less popular GOP candidates. And, even most of them aren't nearly as conservative as Liz.

She's, as you can understand, as Bush/Cheney conservative GOP. The party has moved on. Liz is a dinosaur 🦕 these days.

I think that it's sort of cute, po, that you're so enamored of Liz. Obviously, it's not ideology that draws you to her. Hmmmm. I can't guess why you'd think highly of her.

  37. by Indy! on September 23, 2023 7:45 pm

Liz is another wingnut MSNBC tried to turn into one of their "reasonable" GOPer friends. The real reason - of course - was to move the network even further right. It's funny Donna and Pondy (and most likely Curt) think highly of her when she's as rightwing as they come. The only reason she didn't like Trump is the same reason the Ds don't like him - decorum. He's a boorish lout and that doesn't play well in corporate boardrooms or with foreign dignitaries we're looking to screw out of their national and natural resources.

Oh my yes it has. Long gone are the olden days of your grandfather's Republican party. When there was at least basic respect for the Constitution. Forget all that worn out "law and order" nonsense. Today's Republicans make their own rules! They make their own laws. And even break them if it serves their purposes. Yeah none of that old fashioned sense of sworn duty crap for The Modern Republican I tell ya.

"I think that it's sort of cute, po, that you're so enamored of Liz." -Hate

I can understand and respect the sacrifice she undertook to do her Constitutional duty, knowing that her blasphous prosecution of the party's Second Coming of Jesus Christ Incarnate for his heinous and unforgivable criminal acts against this country and its people would result in the end of her congressional career. She did the right, honorable, and patriotic thing and she paid dearly for it.

And you know good and god damned well that had she not joined the Democrats in crucifying your party's Christ of Crime and had instead joined the rest of the party in sticking their heads into the sand about the whole sad lot, she'd not have lost that last election.

"She couldn't even run for another term in WY.... " -olde dude

You should have told her that before she went ahead and ran anyways. She was primaried. People aren't generally primaried unless they were running in the primary.

She lost 28.9% to 66.3% to a hand picked Trump-anointed Trump lover who would never do anything as dastardly as ever hold him personally responsible for any of his treasonous actions and his cavalcade of crimes.

"THAT says something about her, and how much she's personally hated." -olde dude

For "turning on Trump". Right. Exactly! That is what I have been saying!

Forget all that worn out "law and order" nonsense. Today's Republicans make their own rules! They make their own laws. And even break them if it serves their purposes. Yeah none of that old fashioned sense of sworn duty crap for The Modern Republican I tell ya.

    Translation:

    I HAVE TDS!!!!!
    I HAVE TDS!!!!!
    I HAVE TDS!!!!!
    I HAVE TDS!!!!!
    I HAVE TDS!!!!!
    I HAVE TDS!!!!!
    I HAVE TDS!!!!!
    I HAVE TDS!!!!!
    I HAVE TDS!!!!!
    I HAVE TDS!!!!!
I HAVE TDS!!!!!...IN FACT, I'M SO STEEPED IN MY OWN PREFERENCES AND PREJUDICES THAT I TAKE WITH ME INTO EVERY MOMENT OF MY LIFE THAT I'VE LOST TOUCH WITH REALITY. Bahahahahahahahahahaha baha baha haha baha baha hoohoo heehee ha ha ha baha, ahhhhhhhhhhh.

    Heeheeheeheeheeheehee haha haha ha!

The truth po, is that the GOP is the home of openness and inclusion, acceptance, diversity, tolerance and...especially, FREETHINKING.

There are some in the GOP, these days, more welded to the Constitution than ever.

pb suspects that reality may be what pushed you over the edge.

Dear God I pity your willfully obstinate ignorance, Bill.

    Self-awareness, po.

As much as anyone I've ever encountered, you are subservient to the preferences and prejudices that all of us bring with us to every moment of our lives.

Difference between us being that I also bring objective reality with me to support what I believe. You never do and never have, Bill. That is simply a fact. Yes, that is a tremendously huge difference between us.

    "See #35" -olde dude

Okay. From another thread but okay.

"You don't get it. THAT is what they see and hear with their own eyes and ears on their news. That is their reality." -olde dude

Right. Exactly. Just as those like Hate who only get their news from Fox and other sites regurgitating the same exact propaganda that is in total contradiction to objective, observable reality.

See gang? olde dude gets it!
