A SelectSmart.com History Selector by Mary Elizabeth Edwards, created October 2002.
The wives of England's most infamous monarch, while very different from one another, are all fascinating. Some were beautiful, some were brilliant, some were pious--and some were none of those. They were, however, all women with hopes and dreams who fell victim in someway to their families, their monarch, and their own natures.
The authors, while well versed in Tudor history, do admit to some undisclosed biases toward certain of the wives.
