He has long exhibited that his grasp of American history would earn him a failing grade in middle school. This week he lamented the removal of a giant statue of Robert E. Lee from Virginia's capital, somehow connecting it to Afghanistan.

"If only we had Robert E. Lee to command our troops in Afghanistan, that disaster would have ended in a complete and total victory many years ago. What an embarrassment we are suffering because we don’t have the genius of a Robert E. Lee!" --Donald Trump

Spoiler alert...Lee was the losing general in the Civil War. Trump is as ill-informed about the most important conflicts in US history as he is on countless other topics.

"People don't realize (long pause) you know (long pause) the Civil War (long pause) if you think about it (long pause) why? People don’t ask that question, but why was there the Civil War? Why could that one not have been worked out?" --Donald Trump

"The Continental Army suffered a bitter winter of Valley Forge, found glory across the waters of the Delaware, and seized victory from Cornwallis of Yorktown. Our army manned the air, it rammed the ramparts, it took over the airports, it did everything it had to do." --Donald Trump

LOL! It all gets back to my wife's new topic thread.

I don't think so, but "I used to drive an 18 wheeler," definitely is.

Unlike at least one other political "comic", Seth Meyers knows how to do political satire.

Except you truncated Biden's quote to change its meaning. I am guessing that even your late senile father knew that there weren't airports in the 18th century and knew the reasons for the Civil War.
