DeSantis now knows he blew it by attacking Disney so he is waving a white flag and retreating as fast as his little legs will carry him! LoL !!

He says it was just a stunt…However, his stunt cost Florida residents millions of dollars. 

At first I thought he was just another version of Trump only a bit smarter…But DeSantis is demonstrating to us all that he is not only as morally bankrupt as Trump but ‘intellectually’ he and Trump are equals !!!

This particular gimmick backfired spectacularly, so of course he's blowing it off now. by Indy! on August 16, 2023 10:21 am I wasn't on the board at the time, but I said on day one there was absolutely no way DeSantis could win this one. Real Floridians - as opposed to carpetbaggers like OD who've only been here a minute - know that Disney has been nothing but a goldmine for Florida. The only people who are against them in any way are the hard core nutjob rightwingers who think Disney has some sort of "gay agenda" and are putting subliminal messages in their animated films. When Disney came here, they were given that authority over that land and absolutely nobody cared. It was a bunch of swamp land nobody was using and they said they'd come in, build Disney World (plus Epcot, hotels, yada, yada), bring millions of new tourists every year and generate billions in taxes for Florida - and all they wanted was control of the area so they didn't have to deal with the whims of local authorites (read: crazy Florida crackers and nutjobs like DeSantis). It was win, win, win, win, win for EVERYBODY. Even the local people didn't care because they had NOTHING until Disney showed up. I'm sure the local governments were HAPPY to cede control of a bunch of land they didn't want to watch over anyway. And btw, Disney has been fantastic caretakers. It is basically their own little city (or county) so of course they have issues from time to time - people getting hurt on rides or a fight here or there or whatever. But that's going to happen anyplace you get a bunch of people together in one place. But overall? It's basically been the safest, best cared for area of the state (and probably MOST states). If you ever go there - try this... See if you can find a place in the park to light up a joint. A place where you can slip out of public view for 5 minutes and smoke a doob. It's impossible - the ONLY place they ONCE had was the Sky Trail ride. There is no place to go where you can hide away and/or get in trouble.
