Managing blood sugar overnight

       
Is your blood sugar between 140 and 180?
YES
Do you still have active insulin on board?
NO
Great! Do nothing and go to sleep. You might be high in the morning but you can correct at breakfast.

YES
Do nothing and check your sugar in three hours.
YES
Three hours later, are you over 180?
NO
Great! Go back to sleep and check again at breakfast, correcting then if you are high.

Deliver a correction that is .2 units less than suggested. Go to sleep and check in the morning.
