US cyclocross championships and the anti-trans protesters

I've mentioned our friend, the cyclocross champion, in a previous article (see link below). We have known her since she was a little girl in kindergarten and a friend and classmate of my son.

In light of what we have discussed here recently, I found it interesting that there were anti-trans protestors at the cyclocross championships where there are multiple age and gender categories. I am not aware of any transsexual athletes competing in any category. I can attest that our friend, the elite women's champion, is and always has been female.
(CYCLINGTIPS) - As riders raced at US cyclocross nationals over the weekend, a group of anti-trans protesters stood along the course holding signs opposing the participation of trans women in women’s sports.
