When President Biden mangled the US withdrawal from Afghanistan his approval, which had been as high as +21, suddenly tanked so that, by mid July 022, his approval was 17.8 points under water.
By election day in 022 his approval rebounded to a degree.
On 538 today, March 5, 024, for the first time, the President’s approval fell to -18.
Interestingly, pb recently entered a thread noting that Joe's approval seemed to be unaffected by Special Counsel Robert Hur's comment that our President is a "sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory" who couldn't remember when he was Vice President nor recall when his son, Beau, died, which President Biden punctuated by giving an address to the nation in which he confused the nations of Egypt and Mexico and followed that with a brief press availability in which he pointed his finger and shouted at the CNN reporter.
Maybe this tanking in approval merely gives the polls time to catch up. pb doesn't know and won't speculate.
