Deranged, hateful, irrational. All-consuming. Unhealthy. Ugly to behold.

Ohio State University. The Buckeyes!

The difference between po with Trump and pb with Ohio State is that po lacks self-awareness and pb fights against his fallen nature.

The most intense rivalry in college sports is the Michigan/Ohio State football brouhaha. For 40 plus years, pb's rooted for the Wolverines and HATED the Buckeyes...and he doesn't know why.

It's base. Instinctive. Prejudicial.

We used to live in northwest Ohio...almost exactly equidistant between Columbus and Ann Arbor, which is a beautiful town, BTW. In our town, during game week, numerous residents would hang OSU or MU banners on their front lawns. The tally was nearly equal.

And, I, even though I grew up in Penn State territory, took the game to heart.

What stunned me about myself is that, this year, I found myself thinking of po's delirious Trump hate,... during the final minutes,... as OSU moved down the field on a potential game winning drive.

Jim Harbaugh, Michigan's head coach was not on the sidelines this time. He was watching from home, because he'd been suspended FOR THE EFFIN-SECOND TIME THIS SEASON. Clearly Michigan's program is corrupt. It cheats. (Just like the party of "that feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap.") Any person who believes in truth, justice and the American way, would want Michigan to pay the price. Normally pb would...were not the Buckeyes on t'other sideline.

pb's irrational hate, his OSUDS is has so overwhelmed his ability to function as a good and normal person would, that all his mind could muster was the brainless hate that rages in his heart.

And, I honest-to-God, thought, howbeit briefly, about po and Trump.

Baha.

All of us bring our preferences and prejudices to every moment of our lives. pb normally resists his...

...but, with the Buckeyes? Nuh-uh. It's irrational. I accept that. I admit it. But, in this case? pb don't give a d@ng.

So? po? Your Trump is my OSUDS.

Tolerance? Graciousness? For ol pb? When it comes to the Ohio State Buckeyes? Don't even go there.

And, pb's derangement is as baseless as is po's.

Baha.

Baha. Bahahahahahahahahahaha hahaha haha ha!

The cheating Wolverines will compete in the College Football Playoffs...and, since the Buckeyes suffer? I'm good with it.

Ponderer’s (and my) antipathy toward Trump is nothing like your trivial football rivalry. People who will cast their vote against Trump are voting against authoritarianism and for the continuation of America’s constitutional democracy and respect for the rule of law. We are also voting against a psychologically unfit narcissist who surrounds himself with incompetent sycophants.

Incidentally, Joe Biden’s personal involvement in the current hostage release and pause in hostilities in Gaza is something that would not happen under a Donald Trump administration.

  2. by HatetheSwamp on November 27, 2023 10:26 am

Ponderer’s (and my) antipathy toward Trump...

    Antipathy schmantipathy.

I possess antipathy toward Trump, too. I think he's despicable...but I've managed to hold on to my sanity.

It's easy to go bonkers over trivial matters like sport.

po manages to be crazed about consequential matters. That's dangerous.

  3. by Indy! on November 27, 2023 11:59 am

True about Trump and Biden/Gaza (assuming that's true and not just more D worshipping from Curt). However - otoh - I bet we'd still be in Afghanistan if not for Trump spelling it out like it is when nobody else had the balls to do it. Broken clock theory proven - okay - but reality too.

  4. by oldedude on November 27, 2023 6:49 pm
Perhaps. But there may be some dignity with it. And not the mockery of putin (I know, you adore him, but he mocked the US on Russian Television for a full month afterwards, which gained him support against Ukraine.

And I know you don't give any shit about human beings, but their the ones that were the worst off. You need to watch the trailer I cited. I know it won't change any sociopath, but you ought to try anyway.

"I possess antipathy toward Trump, too. I think he's despicable...but I've managed to hold on to my sanity." -Hate

Well it's good to know that your totally irrational support and constantly obsequious defense of Trump is not because you are insane. But the doesn't leave any better explanation for your totally irrational support and constant defense of the horrifically consequential and democratically destructive matters he has engendered over the last several years in our country.

"po manages to be crazed about consequential matters. That's dangerous." -hate

At least I care enough about the consequences of Trump's treasonous and megalomaniacal actions to pay attention and give them the attention they deserve. You seem content to absolutely ignore them and even applaud them, Bill. Which is far more destructive in the long run, as your MAGA Hat brethren are so dutifully efficient in proving. Never a single word of disagreement from you about a single thing he has ever done. Nothing but contentment from you over any one of his endless anti-American, heinous and felonious actions. You are a deplorable excuse for an American citizen, Bill, to give that career criminal such a free pass as you do.

This is not "crazed" talk, as you would dearly love to categorize it. It's a simple, straightforward reporting borne out by reality. That is why you must attack it. And as you can never point to a single error I have made in my assessment of that orange psychopath, you have no leg to stand on in finding anything I ever say about him as being "crazed". Nothing at all.

    Ya got nothin', Bill.

At least I care enough about the consequences of Trump's treasonous and megalomaniacal actions to pay attention and give them the attention they deserve. You seem content to absolutely ignore them and even applaud them, Bill.

Exactly as, back in the day, the Nazis cared about the Jews' treason and megalomania.

    Ya got nothin', Bill.

Over the years, I've learned that, when you go to the trouble of saying that I got nuthin,...

    ...I've reeeeeeeeally got sumpthin.

  7. by Ponderer on November 28, 2023 6:50 am

You say, Bill, that you are a follower of Jesus.

Perhaps you could explain for us the logic that a Jesus supporter uses while defending and supporting a man who is certainly amongst the greatest living antitheses of Jesus Christ? Precisely the sort of man that Jesus preached against in His life. Precisely the kind of man you should never bow to? The sort of man who glorifies in and personifies every sin imaginable in the pursuit of his sociopathic, self-serving goals?

Perhaps you can explain how such a man has become the utter darling, the Golden Calf of the religious right? Because it's a flabbergasting mystery to anyone with more than a casual understanding of the Christian religion.

And I've learned over the years that when you can never come back with anything even suggesting that you have anything, you actually in fact reeeeeeeeeally don't.

  9. by HatetheSwamp on November 28, 2023 7:57 am

Perhaps you could explain for us the logic that a Jesus supporter uses while defending and supporting a man who is certainly amongst the greatest living antitheses of Jesus Christ?

Are you referring to Trump? Considering your obsession and derangement, I'm assuming...because...

    ...that's your pattern.

    I'll ask again...as I have...as I have EFFINrepeatedly, to no avail...

...when has pb EVER defended Trump? I'm still awaiting examples.

But, again, unlike Donna and you, I'm not into the AMERICA IS A CHRISTIAN NATION malarkey. So, your attempt to blend politics and religion is, for me anyway...

    ...a non sequitur.

  10. by Ponderer on November 28, 2023 8:46 pm

It was a very simple question. Because Trump is actually quite popular with American Christians. I was just curious how they swing it and still go to church every Sunday.

But I could imagine why they wouldn't want to dwell on the religious hypocrisy of supporting and elevating a man who embodies pretty much everything that Jesus ever preached against.

  11. by Indy! on November 28, 2023 9:08 pm

I'm sure Michigan/Ohio State is big in the midwest, but it's a tea party compared to Florida/Georgia. Tailgating starts a week before the game.

  12. by HatetheSwamp on November 29, 2023 2:58 am

    po,

Based on what are you suggesting that Trump is the "greatest living antithesis of Jesus Christ?"

  13. by Ponderer on November 29, 2023 7:10 am

"Based on what are you suggesting that Trump is the 'greatest living antithesis of Jesus Christ?'" -Hate

Based on everything that I know and have seen of the man. Essentially everything about him. I can only imagine how despicable a human being he is in private. You yourself say he's despicable. What are you basing that on?

Perhaps you could explain for us why any Jesus supporter would defend and support a man who is certainly amongst the greatest living antitheses of Jesus Christ? Precisely the sort of man that Jesus preached against in His life. Precisely the kind of man you should never bow to? The sort of man who glorifies in and personifies every sin imaginable in the pursuit of his sociopathic, self-serving goals?

I'd really appreciate it if you would address this question seriously. I'm not the only one who I've ever heard ask it.

    "SUCKERS...!!!"

  14. by HatetheSwamp on November 29, 2023 7:34 am

Based on everything that I know and have seen of the man. Essentially everything about him.

Now, that's specific. You are a genius!

Perhaps you could explain for us why any Jesus supporter would defend and support a man who is certainly amongst the greatest living antitheses of Jesus Christ?

Ah, a classic, Do you still beat your wife, question.

    Ask a Trump supporter.

  15. by Ponderer on November 29, 2023 7:47 am

Bill, you don't think that there are a lot of Christians who support, defend, and voted for Donald Trump? Are you denying their existence altogether? Because there are in fact a lot of Christians who adore the asshole. You don't have to take my word for it.

I merely thought that you might have some insight, with your seminarian background and all, into how they might mentally juggle being so dedicated to someone who is exactly the kind of person that Jesus spent His career warning everyone to avoid.

But as I mentioned before, I can understand why you wouldn't want to dwell on such religious hypocrisy.

  16. by HatetheSwamp on November 29, 2023 11:36 am

Bill, you don't think that there are a lot of Christians who support, defend, and voted for Donald Trump?

There are many. If you want to know how they think, ask one.

I'm still waiting to know what it is that you know about Jesus that makes Trump His antithesis.

  17. by Indy! on November 29, 2023 11:52 am

My stepfather - (the deacon) was a big Trumper in the early days - no longer talks about him at all. Same with my bio Dad (who is not very religious) - no Trump talk at all since Biden took over.

  18. by Donna on November 29, 2023 12:29 pm

I can answer your question, Hts. Jesus led a life of selflessness and Trump has led a life of self-centeredness.

  19. by HatetheSwamp on November 29, 2023 12:52 pm

    Donna,

    So you say. Be specific.

  20. by Donna on November 29, 2023 12:58 pm

I don't believe that you disagree with my statement. You just want to argue with me. Not taking your bait.

  21. by HatetheSwamp on November 29, 2023 1:07 pm

Well, Donna, I am not a Trump fan, as you know, but, until you prove differently, my sense is that you practice blind, brainless hate of Trump that is disconnected from real world truth.

So, apart from po's unsubstantiated claims that Trump's committed felonies, what, exactly, are Trump's evils...as far as you actually know...

...other than he's not a woke, white electric limousine lovin progressive Swampcultist.

  22. by Donna on November 29, 2023 1:22 pm

I'm not interested in conversing with you.

  23. by HatetheSwamp on November 29, 2023 1:39 pm

    No. Seriously, Donna.

Since 016, all I know about Trump and po and you... and progressives in general... is that he holds different political opinions than do you and that your side has tried to convict him of many evils and crimes...

    ...so far, to no effect.

So, really. Apart from the fact that Trump is a conservative populist... be specific...

    ...what are his ills?

  24. by Indy! on November 29, 2023 2:01 pm

    Allow me, Donna...

    For starters...
    • He's a racist
    • He's a low rent con artist and failure of a business man
    • He has no problem trying to undermine the Constitution
    • He looks up to dictators like Putin and Hitler
    • He's threatened to lock up his political opponents like his hero dictators
    • He tried everything in his power to undermine the results of the 2020 election
    • He used his position as owner of Miss Teen USA to spy on underage girls
    • He's a mental midget who tries (hilariously) to prove he's smart by saying dumbass things like "I know all the big words" without realizing there's not a single multisyllabic word in that sentence.
    • He's cheated on all his (many) wives
    • He disowned one of his daughters
    • He tried to sell top secret government info to our enemies
    • He embarrassed the country at every international event he attended
    • He alienated every single one of our allies in the world with his boorish behavior and idiotic ideas
    • He tried to convince some of the dumbass Rs to ingest bleach to cure covid
    • He lies everytime he opens his mouth
    • He's cheated on his taxes his entire life
    • If it weren't for his rich father he wouldn't be considered for the White House janitorial jobs, much less the presidency
    • He has horrible hair

You know, Donna and I are supposed to answer for entire swaths of American humanity in here to hear Hate tell it. I ask him one simple fuckingquestion about something that he has seen going on all around him in the religious circles he likely frequents and he goes dumb. What afucking asshole.

  26. by Indy! on November 29, 2023 4:50 pm

Kinda funny though that he continues to pretend like he doesn't like Trump while defending him at every turn and voting for him in every election he's on the ballot. 😃👍

  27. by oldedude on November 29, 2023 10:22 pm
jjpo- The WTF can't you guys get a conviction that will stick? I've been (semi)patiently waiting for all the "promises" that you've had for six years+ and there's a big fat ZERO. I was hoping you would have gotten this done within three months of pedojoe getting into office. But nooooooooooooooooo.. You folks fart around and play politics while the rest of the world waits for y'all to get your "act" together and just frigging convict him.

  28. by HatetheSwamp on November 30, 2023 3:20 am

So, am I decoding this correctly?

OD's said the quiet part out loud? In all these years, pb's refrained from typing the actual word. OD has. I've thought it about po. But, now, Donna, too?

po's nuthin more than a NARCISSIST?

    I've raised the question...of Donna:

"Apart from the fact that Trump is a conservative populist... be specific...

    ...what are his ills?"

    Crickets. Except for po's:

"I ask (pb) one simple fuckingquestion about something that he has seen going on all around him in the religious circles he likely frequents and he goes dumb. What afucking asshole."

Effbombs? Dumped on pb? That's it?

So. Why does po think Trump is the antithesis of Jesus Christ? Why does Donna think it, too?

Could it just be that Trump's merely a conservative populist and they ain't.

They disagree with Trump. Therefore, Trump's the, as po'd say, EFFINantichrist?

  32. by Ponderer on November 30, 2023 8:41 am

    How about this...

How do you think supposedly Christian fans of Donald Trump manage to utterly ignore things like him setting up a charity organization and pocketing the money for himself? Scamming charities is pretty damned antithetical of Jesus Christ I would say. I'd suggest that it's also pretty antithetical to being a human being to boot.

If you can't answer for anyone else like you expect Donna and myself to do all the time, just tell us how you, as a Christian follower of Jesus, could vote to put such a person in power who would do such a thing. What are the mental gymnastics you employ regarding this specific example to keep defending and supporting him as you do. Why wasn't that simply the end of your relationship with him, Bill?

"Donald J. Trump Pays Court-Ordered $2 Million For Illegally Using Trump Foundation Funds"

    December 10, 2019

NEW YORK – New York Attorney General Letitia James today released the following statement after Donald J. Trump was forced to pay more than $2 million in court-ordered damages to eight different charities for illegally misusing charitable funds at the Trump Foundation for political purposes:

“Not only has the Trump Foundation shut down for its misconduct, but the president has been forced to pay $2 million for misusing charitable funds for his own political gain. Charities are not a means to an end, which is why these damages speak to the president’s abuse of power and represent a victory for not-for-profits that follow the law. Funds have finally gone where they deserve — to eight credible charities. My office will continue to fight for accountability because no one is above the law — not a businessman, not a candidate for office, and not even the president of the United States.”

As part of a resolution of the lawsuit announced on November 7th, Trump was ordered to pay $2 million, or $250,000, a piece to eight different charities. Those charities are Army Emergency Relief, the Children’s Aid Society, Citymeals-on-Wheels, Give an Hour, Martha’s Table, the United Negro College Fund, the United Way of National Capital Area, and the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum. Additionally, Trump was forced to reimburse his namesake foundation $11,525 for sports paraphernalia and champagne purchased at a charity gala, which was added to $1,797,598.30 already in the foundation’s bank account. The combined $1,809,123.30 was split evenly and recently transferred to the eight agreed upon charities. Each charity ended up receiving a total of $476,140.41.

Additionally, as part of the settlement, Trump was required to agree to 19 admissions, acknowledging his personal misuse of funds at the Trump Foundation, and agreed to restrictions on future charitable service and ongoing reporting to the Office of the Attorney General, in the event he creates a new charity. The settlement also included mandatory training requirements for Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump, and Eric Trump, which the three children have already undergone. Finally, the settlement required the Trump Foundation to shutter its doors last December and dissolve under court supervision.

"Donald J. Trump Pays Court-Ordered $2 Million For Illegally Using Trump Foundation Funds"

Okay. If you're a Christian, you would believe that trumpster is a human. And is fallible. What he did was WRONG. No doubt about it. I abhor people that take from non-profits' funds and turn it into their own cash cow. Much like the cliton foundation. That's why I'm very, very careful about donating money to any organization.

That said, I would have thought you would have come up with more than that to call him the antichrist.

I would be looking for far larger things. Like promoting and expanding patent violations of biblical teaching. Producing evidence that force people to support the laws of Sodom and Gomorrah. Supporting the murder of children in their mother's womb, that sort of thing. Supporting evil at its essence.

  35. by HatetheSwamp on November 30, 2023 9:45 am

    po,

You may be hyperbolizing juss a tad in suggesting that Trump is the actual ANTITHESIS of Jesus Christ...

    ...at least, only Trump specifically.

An answer to your question about how Christians can support Trump...

)...but, honestly, po you should ask the question to a Christian who is a real-life Trump supporter...

...my speculation is no better than yours. So, why do you think?)

Anyway, AN answer may go back to you and Donna attempting to foist your belief that Christians should want to legislate America into being a Christian nation. Few do, in spite of how you want to misrepresent them.

OD and pb both have pointed out in the past that for many woke, white electric limousine lovin progressive Swampcultists...

...politics serves the same role for you that religious beliefs do to normal people.

While a nanominority of Christians in America may have that belief about politics, very, very few do.

Bottom line? Your contention that Trump is the actual antithesis of Jesus is one you haven't demonstrated, and, it may just be that very few Christians confuse voting for President with electing a Christ figure.

  36. by HatetheSwamp on November 30, 2023 9:50 am

od, Hate wanted specific examples. And I thought that this one would be a simple no-brainer, morally and anti-Jesus wise, for him to grasp. Alas. No cigar. Couldn't even attempt a bunt on a slow pitch.

I mean, there are currently libraries being filled with books that cover and document Trump's heinously ungodly and un-American immoral proclivities. I could have started anywhere and gone on for pages. But to what end?

"Okay. If you're a Christian, you would believe that trumpster is a human. And is fallible. What he did was WRONG. No doubt about it." -od

I get where you are coming from, od. Granting a fellow human being forgiveness is certainly a basic Christian tenet. As it is for many religions. 👍👍

But where I'm coming from is... Any Christian might be able to forgive a convicted child predator of their crimes and human frailties. But that certainly doesn't have to include them feeling obligated to hire the creep as a baby sitter.

Justice Dept. Investigated Clinton Foundation Until Trump’s Final Days

President Donald J. Trump and his allies tried to cast the Clinton Foundation as corrupt. But the yearslong investigation sputtered to its conclusion without charges.

    May 22, 2023

The Justice Department kept open the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s family foundation for nearly all of President Donald J. Trump’s administration, with prosecutors closing the case without charges just days before he left office.

Newly released documents and interviews with former department officials show that the investigation stretched long past when F.B.I. agents and prosecutors knew it was a dead end. The conclusion of the case, which centered on the Clinton Foundation’s dealings with foreign donors when Mrs. Clinton served as secretary of state under President Barack Obama, has not previously been reported.

Mr. Trump, who campaigned on a promise to “lock her up,” spent much of his four-year term pressuring the F.B.I. and the Justice Department to target political rivals. After being accused by the president’s allies of serving as part of a deep-state cabal working against him, F.B.I. officials insisted that the department acknowledge in writing that there was no case to bring.

The closing documents, which were obtained by The New York Times as part of a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit, spelled the end to an investigation that top prosecutors had expressed doubts about from the beginning. Still, it became a rallying cry for Republicans who believed the F.B.I. would ultimately turn up evidence of corruption and damage Mrs. Clinton’s political fortunes.
