People who say they are voting for Robert F. Kennedy Jr. are probably low-information voters.

(TIME)When Joe Biden was Vice President, he used multiple email addresses. While members of the public might have guessed they could reach Barack Obama's running mate at, say, joe.biden@whitehouse.gov, he often used email accounts under aliases like Robert Peters and JRB Ware. Biden was following a common practice among senior government officials hoping to thwart hackers, as well as prevent spammers from guessing their address and clogging their inbox, according to a White House official.

Now House Republicans, who have spent months trying and failing to show that Joe Biden was involved in his son Hunter Biden's overseas business dealings, want the National Archives to hand over more than 5,000 messages from Biden's vice presidency that relate to those email addresses, thinking those messages might reveal something new.

My educated guess is that there are many dodgy emails from Joe using the pseudonyms on Hunter's laptop.

I thought your opinion was that Joe Biden should have a criminal trial for using an email alias. That because Trump has been subjected to criminal trials for mishandling classified documents and election interference.

  3. by HatetheSwamp on November 1, 2023 12:54 pm

    That wasn't precisely my point.

I have made the point in the past that Joe doesn't need to convicted of a crime in order to be impeached because impeachment is a political process.

In this case, pb thinks that it's extremely likely that "that feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap's" criminal activity will be evinced through the investigation of these emails...

    ...but, we'll see.

Why do you keep sourcing stuff from Fox if you (allegedly) don't watch Fox?

curt- I 'splained that earlier. apparently you didn't listen.

In order to get a "non-official" email which you're describing, you must consult the IT department. They would have those email lists registered with their servers. apparently they don't. So. Apparently they are not legally listed, or they were created by those whom would shade his illegally activity. You pick now.

    Indy,

    I don't WATCH Fox.

curt- I do have a question. Is there anywhere that says it's a "government" email? or does it actually say "non-government" email? I'm just wondering. if you know and could cite, it may change my verdict on this.

    OD,
I don't know the specific answer to your question. I suspect that a .gov extension on an email address would indicate it's official government business while a .com address could be used for personal use. The article I quote and link to below discuss that.

White House officials used private email, violated federal record-keeping rules, top Democrat says
"While it is not illegal for West Wing employees to use private email, White House officials are required to forward any official business done on private email accounts to their government email accounts within 20 days, under the Presidential Records Act."

    1. Private email may only be used on the NIPR (unclassified) computer system. This is where I had an issue with cliton. She was "declassifying" information and putting it on the FOUO (and below) system that she didn't have authority to do.

    2. I agree with the assessment. If it is related to government work, it MUST be on the official government server. That's why I insisted on a government phone. Anything that was government related, they had whenever they wanted to. IF you're doing official work on your personal phone (or email) that email (and the computer, and all computers that email was used on) or phone can be searched for evidence without a subpoena.

SO. It's a very important question to know. Period. If pedojoe was doing a side hustle, then all communications would be subject to search and seizure by the government. Legally. That gives the US government access to whatever communication devices he may have used in these transactions (and with subpoenas, back further at least seven years).
