I an skeptical by nature. However, when I read your posts, HtS, I dispense with my usual skepticism and assume what you are posting is BS. The only question that remains is to discern if you are lying or if you quoting a source (in this case Turley) who is lying.

The Post did not say Joe Biden lied. For him to have lied, Biden would have needed to know that his statement was untrue. That Biden's response was false jibes with his contention that he doesn't discuss business with his son.

Here is what the Post said:

Joe Biden’s comment that Hunter Biden made no money in China was made in the course of a contentious debate in which he rebutted a number of false claims made by Trump. Yet he made his statement in response to a direct question from the moderator. It’s possible he purposely tailored his answer to just the period when he was vice president, but Biden has never been known for such parsing of language. The president tends to be sloppier in his phrasing — which often gets him into trouble.

But the fact remains that Biden, during the debate, denied his son had made money in China. In court last week, his son has said he earned hundreds of thousands of dollars from Chinese business deals.

By the way, it is a bit rich for Trump to have accused private citizen Hunter Biden of making money in/from China. The Trump family made money from China even as Jared, Ivanka, and Trump himself made millions from foreign countries while in the White House.

I'm pretty sure that that's not the import Trump’s accusation.

And, I'm pretty sure you have no idea what lies HouseGOPs have caught Joe in...but, that's fine, for now.

If a president lying is a crime, then Trump committed that crime on a daily basis from the day he was inaugurated.

So Biden said he didn't communicate with his son about his business? Well... so what if it turns out that he did? So what if he talked about Hunter's business with him and even gave him advice. So what? That in no way creates a foregone conclusion that any crime was committed.

    "She's right you know..."

  4. by HatetheSwamp on August 30, 2023 11:39 am

I think, po, that the GOPs already know what Joe was lying to cover up...which will be slowly trickle truthed between now and the time that the actual Impeachment begins. The question you could consider is, if there warnt dirt, why would Joe lie?

"The question you could consider is, if there warnt dirt, why would Joe lie?" -Hate

It could well be that even though he wasn't doing anything illegal, he just didn't want to attract attention to it. It could even have been Hunter's idea in the first place. Again, what's illegal here?

By the way, what I am doing here for Biden is called "defending" him. And I have no qualms about it at all. This is what you do for Trump all the time, but pathetically refuse to own it.

    HtS,
If you post, quoting verbatim, something that Biden said that you deem to be a lie (especially a potentially impeachable one), I'll analyze it for you. I might be able to disabuse you of your misconceptions.

    HtS,
I notice that whenever you are asked to respond with a citable fact or a direct quote, as I did in post #6 above, your response is either 🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗 or your supposed disbelief that your claim is doubted.

"What is an "impeachable" lie?" --HtS

You should know. You've been claiming that is a reason to impeach Biden.

One example is perjury. You seem to think that there are other examples of Biden lying that if not impeachable make him unworthy of the presidency. I just want to see an example of that.

But apparently you cannot produce any examples...unsurprisingly.

  13. by Curt_Anderson on August 31, 2023 10:46 am
OK, HtS, you linked to the House Oversight Committees list of what they call Biden's lies. Since you didn't, I'll pick one of their examples of a supposed lie.

Reporter: “Excuse me. There was a photo of you golfing with your son Hunter and his business partner Devon Archer. Do you stand by your statement that you did not discuss any of your son’s overseas business dealings?”

Joe Biden: “Yes, I stand by that statement.”

There are other similar examples of "lies".

Why is that a lie? I've had as guests in our home many of my son's fellow police officers. I've talked to them and his superiors in social settings often. I have never once discussed their police business with them.

I believe you don't have kids, but you must have relatives, neighbors and friends. You might know what line of work they are in, but have you discussed their business dealings with them in any meaningful way?

    HtS,
To summarize you’ve come up with one example (including variations) of a supposed Joe Biden lie. But it is clearly not a lie, which you don’t attempt to refute. Now you’ve gone radio silent, your usual modus operandi when confronted with logic and facts.
