Fact.

President Biden’s family and their allies brought in at least $20 million from foreign sources, including first son Hunter Biden’s business associates in Russia, Kazakhstan and Ukraine — some of whom dined with the current commander-in-chief, the House Oversight Committee revealed Wednesday.

The records supplement [Devon] Archer’s deposition to the committee July 31, in which he revealed the flow of $3.5 million transferred on Feb. 14, 2014, from Russian billionaire and former Moscow first lady Yelena Baturina to the Archer and Hunter Biden-controlled entity Rosemont Seneca Thornton.

If you still can't understand why even deep purple HouseGOPs are on board with the impeachment inquiry, send me a note. Baha!

Assuming what Comer says is true, what impeachable offense is indicated by this revelation? And if there is any crime there, how is that different from the billions of dollars that Trump's children and Trump himself have hauled in from the Saudis, Chinese, former Soviet countries, et cetera?

  2. by HatetheSwamp on August 9, 2023 10:12 am

What has Comer said so far that turned out not to be true?

In answer to your question, there's nuthin impeachable indicated by this revelation.

Does it justify an impeachment inquiry? What about that crackhead could possibly have justified the payment of 20 mill...unless, of course, the moolah ends up in Crime Family coffers?

So far, Kevin McCarthy is forcing even shakey HouseGOPs into supporting an, as po'd really say, effinImpeachment inquiry.

I strongly suspect that McCarthy is trickle truthing the Biden filth. We've heard nuthin from the FBI whistle-blowers. Tony Bobulinski hasn't been called on. Hold on to your hat, there buddy. We're in the summer recess. McCarthy is simply keeping the Crime Family in the news.

And if there is any crime there, how is that different from the billions of dollars that Trump's children and Trump himself have hauled in from the Saudis, Chinese, former Soviet countries, et cetera?

You just can't resist, can you?

“In answer to your question, there's nuthin impeachable indicated by this revelation.

Does it justify an impeachment inquiry?” —HtS

Logically then it would not justify it.

As for James Comer’s claims being true or not, you can find a lot of headlines with his name being associated with the words dud, flop and bogus. Even Steve Doocy of Fox News has lamented the lack of verifiable evidence that James comer has produced.

As a practical matter a Biden impeachment inquiry might be popular with the MAGA base, but it is not broadly popular. If the Republicans try but fail to impeach Biden that will not be popular with any voters. It will be considered a waste of Congressional time and worse. Of course, Joe Biden will not be convicted in the 50/50 Senate were 2/3 of the vote is required for removal from office.

    Oy!

That was one serious non sequitur, Curt.

I'm guessing this Hunter money must be serious stuff.

  6. by Curt_Anderson on August 9, 2023 12:18 pm
Where do you see a non sequitur? Maybe it's obvious to most people but you were not able to follow the logic of my statement.

  7. by HatetheSwamp on August 9, 2023 12:19 pm

Here's a reliable indicator of how serious this $20 million Hunter thing is: If that Georgia indictment comes down within a week, we'll know Joe's in serious trouble.

  8. by HatetheSwamp on August 9, 2023 12:23 pm

Maybe non sequitur doesn't say it well enuff.

But, buddy? Steve Doocy should be overjoyed because Comer just produced that "verifiable evidence" he's been looking for.

    Ain't?

  9. by Curt_Anderson on August 9, 2023 12:40 pm
    HtS,
Verified it ain't, not even by New York Post standards. Your Post article waffles:
"Committee chairman James Comer claims Hunter Biden delivered the Russian, Kazakhstani and Ukrainian business people access to his father."

"Hunter Biden allegedly sold the brand during his father’s tenure as vice president to bring in millions of dollars from oligarchs in Kazakhstan, Russia, and Ukraine, Comer claimed in a statement."

"Comer in May identified nine Biden family members who allegedly got foreign funds for what he said was no apparent services provided." Emphasis mine.

  10. by HatetheSwamp on August 9, 2023 12:57 pm

What's your point? Of course Comer says it's alleged. It will be judged to be fact when the House, ultimately, impeaches "that feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap."

But, I get it. You Good German for your own well-being, not to defend the Family. Keehee.

  11. by Curt_Anderson on August 9, 2023 1:14 pm
My point is that it's not verified. Allegations, accusations and claims are just that...they are not verified. More to point what is being alleged and claimed? You admit yourself that nothing indicates an impeachable offense.

Curt- I read the cite. This reads pretty much like a financial report coming out of Treasury with politics added. No report from treasury ever stands by itself. They show conspiracy, links of people that absolutely know people, and the amount of money being exchanged. I see a couple of things with this.
    1. Was pedojr listed as a foreign agent. NO. He's already admitted to that. FELONY.

    2. Why was he laundering money for a politician of a hostile foreign country? (the report states that he layered the funds and sent them back through another entity/account)

    3. Betcha judge Noreika is watching this.

What does this in itself mean for pedojoe. You'd have to have the account numbers and banks to say anything positive. The report doesn't say who the pedofamily members were. AND they would have to watch the money flow to an account where pedojoe has access. Long story short. Nothing in itself unless joe's account in on it, which I seriously doubt.

"It will be judged to be fact when the House..." --HtS

That statement is also false or at best simplistic.

Even in a court of law factual guilt is what a defendant actually did while legal guilt is what the state can prove beyond a reasonable doubt. A congressional impeachment proceeding is obviously not in front of randomly selected, unbiased jury. An impeachment doesn't even necessarily lead to a conviction--in fact it never has. If any conviction were an actual fact, there wouldn't be any need or appeals or later exonerations.

    OD, HtS,
There is an important missing piece from Comer's allegations, never mind, from any evidence. That is proof of a bribe. Bribery is not even mentioned in this thread.

  15. by HatetheSwamp on August 9, 2023 2:40 pm

    True, Curt.

What's going on now is that Kevin McCarthy and his henchmen are laying the groundwork for holding an impeachment inquiry.

At some point, Tony Bobulinski and Rob Walker and those FBI whistle-blowers and others are going to be added to the picture.

The GOPs are building their case. You probably remember that Nancy Mace claims to be aware of $50 million plus of filthy money. More's to come...in due time.

  16. by islander on August 9, 2023 2:55 pm

This is just one more example of why the GOP is now the laughing stock of the nation! 🤣

See? No shit there I was..... tryin' to kill a large calibre man with a small calibre gun... Who was a man from Nantucket, who's...... nevermind...
Didn't I say that? ALTHOUGH. Case in point. It supports other evidence. You're pressing for shit that wasn't said, nor was it claimed. Please don't do this anymore. Neither one of us are falling for your bullshit you're throwing out. Quit making shit up. PLEASE!

$20M actually seems a bit light to me. But obviously the Bidens are as dirty as Trump and all the rest of them. Politics is all about graft and bribery.

  21. by HatetheSwamp on August 10, 2023 6:19 am

Bang on, Indy. "That feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap" began his career as a DC Swamp politician when, as po'd really say, EFFINNixon was President.

I'm amazed that our TDS gang here refuse to acknowledge that. It's DC 101.

Two separate times I've asked po, why do y'nes insist on behaving as if the Doddering Old Fool is the Second Coming of Gandhi?

    Crickets.

Joe Biden is a run of the mill corrupt Swamp politician. Nuthin more.

    Idjuts.
