This is the DeSantis speech at the Faith and Freedom Coalition meeting in DC. The speech is centered on DeSantis’s efforts to defeat the woke political agenda as the governor of Florida.

I know. Most of you disagree. The point of this post is to give you progressive limousine lib SwampLovers a definition of how people on the other side of the political spectrum use the term when they laugh at you and accuse you of being brainlessly woke.

No need to to thank me. Just serving the cause of efficient communication in the SS community.

DeSantis is a gimmick politician, the shtick of whom only gullible saps fall for.

You mean like "don't trust your lyin' eyes" pedojoe? or "you can keep your doctor and your healthcare plan" obomber?

Wow, Donna, you usually keep your sanctimony veiled but, wow!, when you let it out, you reveal that you are, in truth, the most vicious hater on SS!!!!!!

YEAH!!!!! To disagree with you! One'd effin HAVE to be both gullible AND a sap! Sheeeeeeeeeeeesh, Donna!

    Oy freakin vey!!!!!!

And to be fair, I didn't agree with DeSantis 100%, just like any/every other politician. His proof is in the pudding. If we haven't yet, our population is equal to NY. And yet we have one of the lowest debts of the states. I've talked about the tax structure here before (the toll roads being a great example). Everything for small children (diapers, strollers, formula, etc) are tax free. Black owned small businesses are one of the best in the US. That's why people are moving here.

Yeah, OD. You know that fighting woke is a big deal for me but I think DeSantis has gone over the top making his campaign so much about wokeness. Bubba, as you'd say, Cliton was right. It's the economy, stupid.

But. Donna's sanctimony about DeSantis’s politics is off base. The social views he articulated are real "silent majority" stuff. They resonate more than they did a year ago...IMO.

  8. by oldedude on June 25, 2023 6:53 am
And he did spend a good amount of time on economic stuff later in the speech. And as every good speechwriter will do, is to use the BLUF (Bottom Line Up Front) to get your main points across.

The fact the original Disney setup was an island in the middle of the state that built it's own government, did not pay taxes, etcetcetc. Talk about amega industry.

He also talked about what I said before regarding our population (vs NY), our taxes (vs NY), our debt (vs NY), and our rights (vs NY). That's a fair appraisal.

  9. by Donna on June 25, 2023 7:46 am

    My sanctimony?

LOL! Everyone on this forum is sanctinonious!

People have been moving here forever, OD. DeSantis has chased away at least as many people as he brought here - probably more. And I have yet to meet anyone - liberal or conservative - who thinks fucking with Disney was a good idea. You late comers (and DeSantis) obviously don't understand they have that special area to operate because otherwise they would not have come here. They would have built in some other state.

  11. by oldedude on June 25, 2023 11:04 am
No, I do understand that. I also understand disney abused the area given. Do I think it was correct to do? No. Do many people here think it was a good idea. muh. No one cares. And no one's wasting their money on disney. Either at the parks, on merch, or videos, etc. Does it matter do disney? Maybe. Their income has dropped fairly dramatically ($50BIL) since then. They laid off characters.

The problem is that when they said they'd move, (and got an offer from CO), it doesn't make business sense because of the climate. Where do they go? GA? AL? They're stuck there. And they know it. That's why they STFU and are staying out of the limelight with this.

    Donna,

No. po's sanctimonious and isle...and you. OD certainly ain't. And, I don't get that from Indy!. But, you three post insults about others' intelligence and sophistication and character...as you just did. You'd never fall for DeSantis’s schtick. You ain't gullible and you're certainly not a sap. Eh?
