Cello Concerto Selector 5 from 6 votes. See 932 visitors' top results
A SelectSmart.com Music Selector by Me, created December 2000.
Which cello concerto is best for you at this time? (Hint: this is for people who play the cello.) This selector attempts (and does a pretty good job) to advise you as to which cello concerto should be the next one you study. Don't take this seriously, though, and ask your teacher before you start studying any of the recommended ones. Because Tchaikovsky Rococo Variations when you should be doing the First Goltermann Concerto could give you some terrible tendonitis, and we don't want that :) Anyway, go out and buy a cd of these pieces whether or not you play them. Rostropovich is fantastic, so's du Pre, Casals, Piatigorsky. Etc, etc.
Note: Some of the pieces here are not actually cello concertos, but rather short pieces for cello and orchestra.
