The vitriol partly reflects Trump's own repeated baseless claims that Biden is a usurper, depriving him of his rightful claim to the presidency, and partly stems from Biden actions that Republicans deplore, from his spending plans to his immigration policies.

And, this quote from the article illustrates a significant cause of the frustration.

The claims ain't baseless. And, even if they were, it's the SwampMedia's insistence on anti Trump editorializing while purportedly giving news that makes millions offended by the partnership between the SwampMedia and "that feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap."

As one WaPo commenter said, "Apparently prolonged use of meth and exposure to Fox News causes irreversible brain damage! Who could have ever guessed?"

  2. by HatetheSwamp on October 23, 2021 3:09 pm

Apparently, being self-satisfied and sanctimonious continues to be the go-to strategy for Swampcult Blue MAGA progressives.

The cheating is not ever going to be as easy as it was in 020. But, hang on to the conviction that you are just plain superior to people who think differently than you.

    HtS,
Do I feel superior to the Trumpers who consider the F-bomb a clever witticism? Guilty.

  4. by HatetheSwamp on October 23, 2021 3:55 pm

Remind po of that the next time it comes up.

    Bahahahahahahaha, ahhhhhhhhhhhhh.

  5. by Curt_Anderson on October 23, 2021 4:02 pm
Ponderer never considered an F-bomb clever like you and your ilk do.

I am also superior to the guy mentioned in the WaPo article who was sporting a red “Proud White American” hat and puffing a skinny cigar.

  6. by HatetheSwamp on October 24, 2021 4:41 am

So, are you not proud, not white and/or not American?

  7. by Curt_Anderson on October 24, 2021 10:47 am
    HtS,
I certainly don't need a red hat to announce that I am white.

You are misreading his message. There are no commas on his hat. Proud, White and American are not independent clauses. He is proud of being a white American.

The guy with the hat is your kind of guy. He decorates his house with an obscenity about Joe Biden.

I'm incapable of being proud of something I had no control of. I've been proud of my accomplishments, though, although modesty is my more predominant personality trait.

  9. by HatetheSwamp on October 24, 2021 11:30 am

He is proud of being a white American.

What, in your considered opinion, is wrong with that?

  10. by Curt_Anderson on October 24, 2021 11:50 am
    HtS,
I'm with Donna. I limit myself to being proud of my accomplishments. I am not embarrassed to be white but I don't take any particular pride in it either. Being proud of being born white is like being proud of being born with ten fingers and ten toes.

I had a conversation with friend about my age at the local YMCA. We were remarking how there were a lot of older people working out displaying apparently recent tattoos. My friend remarked these people think to themselves, hey, I forgot to accomplish anything meaningful in life, I better get a tattoo!

So, Curt, it seems to me that this guy is expressing an extremely high level of existential contentment.

Don't deny that you're being critical of that. That's the point.

Certainly. It's a fine thing to embrace one's achievements. If I were one, I might admit to being a proud bowler of a 300 game, for example. If you can unleash a ten second audible fart? By all means, have you a hat made!

But. To embrace being who you are because that's who you are? How wonderful! Can anything be better?

What can possibly be wrong with being happy, even effin proud, to be who you are?
