Kansas City Chiefs kicker blasts Biden, pro-choice movement in commencement speech

“Our own nation is led by a man who publicly and proudly proclaims his Catholic faith, but at the same time is delusional enough to make the sign of the cross during a pro-abortion rally,” he continued.

The president often attends Saturday evening mass with his family either near his home in Wilmington, Del., or in Washington, D.C. and the White House has maintained Biden’s faith is personal to him.

He has not shied away from criticizing Republican leaders and states that have moved to restrict access to the medical procedure. His support for abortion access has prompted calls for the church to not offer him communion.

Butker’s remarks were an apparent reference to when Biden gestured the sign of the cross last month during a rally against abortion restrictions.

Gang,

It's all about moderate and independent, common sense voters.

I'm with Joe. I choose freedom over democracy. But, this ain't helpin.

You can see a video of Joe crossing himself in opposition to Florida's abortion law in the Fox link.

Sheeeeeeeeeeeesh.

Three words: "Dithering and diminished."

"End of quote. Repeat the line."

Harrison Butker: “bad leaders who don’t stay in their lanes.” Hey Harrison, how about football kickers stay in their lane and not discuss politics?

    HtS,
Do you not think that a person can hold private religious beliefs without imposing them on others? Many supporters of capital punishment consider themselves religious. People who believe in "Thou shall not kill" actively engage in war.

Donald Trump, who is renowned for his piety, has broken quite a few of the Ten Commandments.

    Curt,

Over the years, po and Donna have regularly challenged me because I don't attempt to foist my beliefs on others. I am a Christian but I have no interest in seeking to make ours a Christian nation. I don't think that it ever was a Christian nation and I don't think it should be a Christian nation.

But, that's not the point here.

Criticism of "the orange turd" for claiming to be a Christian while abusing the Commandments and teachings of Jesus is absolutely justified.

In the same way, criticism of that "dithering and diminished" "feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap" is perfectly justified. He puts on a front as a devout Roman Catholic then genuflects in opposition to legislation that would protect unborn life! Oy freakin friggin EFFINvey!

Thing is. I don't believe that the Doddering Old Fool was lying on CNN when he claimed inflation was 9% when he took office...

...and, I don't think he's being a hypocrite about abortion.

    He's, simply, brainless.

Really, HtS? Do you really believe that when a politician exaggerates or is wrong (intentionally or unintentionally) on the facts that that is evidence of cognitive problems? If so, I doubt any politician can pass your mental acuity test. Consider what Trump said in New Jersey this weekend. Btw, I believe Trump's problems are more psychological than mental.

Trump said he’s leading in, quote, “every single poll”. He leads in some, not all, polls.

Trump said New Jersey has the highest electricity cost in the country. Not even close to true.

Trump said we have 42,000 soldiers in South Korea. It’s about 28,000.

Trump said South Korea paid the U.S. like nothing for that military presence. It was actually paying the U.S. more than $800 million per year.

Trump said he built 571 miles of border wall. Federal data shows it was 458 miles.

Trump said his ongoing criminal trial was, quote, “all done by Biden”. Again, there’s no evidence that Biden has had any involvement in this trial.

Trump said Biden indicted him. Nope. Four grand juries of ordinary citizens indicted him.

Trump said Biden’s Oval Office is surrounded by fascists. Just made up. It’s fiction.

Trump said millions of migrants from prisons and mental institutions are entering the country. That’s more fiction.

Trump said foreign leaders in Africa and Asia are emptying their prisons to send prisoners here to the U.S. as migrants on purpose. Also fiction.

He spoke of how Biden- era illegal immigration will supposedly destroy Medicare and Social Security. Even anti-immigration activists acknowledge illegal immigration actually boosts those programs since many undocumented people pay taxes even though they’re ineligible to receive benefits.

Trump said every legal scholar wanted Roe v. Wade overturned and abortion policy returned to the states. Totally wrong.

Trump said Democrats want to change federal law to allow the execution of babies after birth, another out-and-out fabrication.

Trump said he will, quote, “stop Joe Biden’s sinister plan to abolish the suburbs”. No such plan, of course, exists.

Trump said the bleach-bit email deletion software used by Hillary Clinton’s team years ago is, quote, “so expensive,” it is actually free of charge.

I don't think those things are necessarily suggestive of cognitive problems. With the Doddering Old Fool, I do. "End of quote. Repeat the line." "Four more years, pause."

The GOP actually has the copyright and sole use of one lie we hear all the time - especially from peebs here... the term "pro-abortion". There is no such thing - it's just a lie some douche like Frank Luntz invented to market and promote new restrictions on women's healthcare.

    So far as the article...

Butker said. “We fear speaking truth, because now, unfortunately, truth is in the minority.”

Religious folks have no idea how informed most people are - and are no longer falling for Butker's favorite fairy tale. All I can say is he landed on the right team - Kansas City. Might as well be living in Afghanistan and playing football for the taliban. Same mentality in that part of the country.

Dude even has the taliban beard. If this guy was on any other team besides the NFL's current favorite pet team - the Chefs - he would already have been fined and possibly suspended.

BTW, so far as Taylor Swift? I knew absolutely nothing about her - still couldn't name one of her songs even if you offered me $100. With all the hoo-ha about her dating Kelce, I finally looked into her by following one of those click bait things you see at the bottom of websites. I believe it was titled something like "Here is everyone Taylor Swift has dated". Okay - all for fun, but DAMN - that woman has dated EVERYONE. You read thru the list and it's basically every dude who was getting any kind of media attention in the last 15 years. Her "romances" generally last about 18 months to 2 years before the dude falls out of the spotlight and Taylor falls out of the "relationship". It reminded me of a Rolling Stone article I read years ago that outlined exactly how Madonna (literally) slept her way to success and fame. Now her "falling for" a country bumpkin like Travis Kelce makes a whole lot more sense - the Chefs get the lion's share of the NFL's attention and Kelce is the #2 guy getting most of it behind QB Patrick Mahomes who - unfortunately for Taylor - is already married.
