I am in New Haven Connecticut visiting my wife’s high school and college friend. Her friend worked in the US Attorneys Office, as a state level judge and currently teaches at Yale. She said the federal cases against Trump are solid with the latest being the strongest.

She dismissed Dershowitz’s plan to change venue and judges. She said the First Amendment defense arguments for Trump and Trump’s Seinfeld defense are non-starters.

She said Merrick Garland couldn’t have moved faster. She doesn’t expect either case to be done before the election. These are complicated cases that take time to build and prosecute. She pointed out that Jack Smith has used novel legal arguments and sometimes lost cases. These against Trump are conservative.

She also said there are provisions to put Trump in prison if convicted even though he has Secret Service protection. Although Trump will endlessly appeal.

Let me guess. Your friend has attended fewer than a half dozen MAGA rallies.

    Good guess.

I'm with you, Bill. It sounds like it is very unlikely that Curt's friend is one of the Disciples of the Orange Oracle like you are.

Btw, she said Trump acts and is like the crime bosses she’s had in her court…except he talks too much.

He has never hidden his penchant for acting like a mob boss.

No kidding. Could you imagine a real mob boss being before a grand jury and saying, "No, I didn't kill him. But I have every right to have him killed if I wanted him dead."?

    Ponderer,
He’s like a mob boss who said “yes I told my underlings I wanted him dead”. But I guess free-speech is now against the law!

Remember where you saw it first...

Barron Trump is seventeen years old and is currently 6' 7".
