If Ds were on my list of eligible candidates and the only options were Biden, RFK and Marianne - she might very well have gotten my vote in November. She still gets rolled way to easy, but she did stand up to that twat Morgan a little - but she's definitely better on policy than RFK (from what I know about him - which is not much) and WAY better than the doddering old fart currently occupying the Oval Office.

Best part about that video is the end where they come to the conclusion that Indy nailed it again...

I like Marianne and I like most of what she said in that interview. I may even vote for her in the primary.

Things I disagree with her on:

1. Reparations for Black Americans. I don't support it. There's no generational wealth in my family either. Not all White families are well to do. IMO aid should be based on economic status, not race. Besides, with so many mixed-race children being born now, how would their race be determined?

2. Her recommendation for how to determine if a TG woman should be able to compete with naturally born women is too subjective and therefore unworkable. She's said something to the effect that if a TG woman is small enough, then it would be okay. What would be considered small enough?

I have a better idea: If a TG woman athlete had a normal male puberty, then she can't compete with naturally born women, and TG women athletes who took testosterone blockers during puberty should be allowed to compete with NB women.

I have a lot of questions about reparations too. My family has been working class literally all the way back to Plymouth Rock until my generation. There's also the argument that there have been reparations to some degree - Affirmative Action, whites fighting in the Civil War to free the slaves, etc... My family fought for the Union and I have the receipt - a photo of my great-great-grandfather in his uniform. Do I get anything for the debt the country owes my ancestors for that? I'm not 100% against reparations, but it sure will a sticky wicket trying to figure out who gets what.

So far as the sports thing, I think it should be genetically born sexes only. If trans folks want to compete - start another category for them (or two). If they think it's somehow "discriminatory"? That's life when it comes to sports. I was good at football - horrible at basketball. Did the school basketball teams discriminate against me because they never wanted to pick me for their teams? No. You don't get everything in life.

Yeah, Indy!. My dad's family arrived from Germany in the 1840s. My dad's great grandfather volunteered to fight in the Civil War for the Union Army, was captured and spent time in the Andersonville POW camp and suffered and nearly died there.

I think the descendants of American slaves should be paying me reparations. Eh?
