It seems to me that everything Trump was about this time in 015, pb's guy, Ron DeSantis is in 023. All the entrenched political powers dumped on Trump from the begin, with a few exceptions, and Trump went outside the lines.
As time went on, Trump defied opposition and expectations and in the end, humiliated Hillary Clinton and the Dem Swamp on election night.
Here's hopin, Ron.
What we know now is that Ron DeSantis created such a stir with his nontraditional campaign launch that he broke Twitter for what?, a half hour, and that his campaign received a $million in an hour...and MAGA isn't supporting him...and progressive SwampLovers hate him.

What fascinates pb is who's on board with Ron and him. The NYP (see bold and link), Fox News, which pb's boycotting and, most enthusiastically Jaimee Michell and much of the anti-TQ LGB crowd. Interesting.

Well, I am running for president of the United States to lead our great American comeback,” DeSantis, 44, told billionaire Elon Musk during an audio-only Twitter Spaces event hours after filing paperwork with the Federal Election Commission.
“Governing is not entertainment,” DeSantis said in an obvious swipe at Trump. “It’s not about building a brand or virtue signaling. It’s about delivering results and our results in Florida have been second to none.”
The governor also declared, in a shot at Trump’s electability: ”If you nominate me, you can set your clock to January 20, 2025, at high noon — because on the west side of the US Capitol, I will be taking the oath of office as the 47th president of the United States. No excuses — I will get the job done.”
DeSantis sought to position himself as a champion of many of the same policies as Trump, without the theatrics, even at one point appropriating his border-wall pledge during the Twitter discussion, saying, “We’ll shut down the border, construct a border wall and hold the drug cartels accountable.”
The governor’s wife Casey, 42, is a glamorous former local TV anchor and key advisor.
He describes himself as coming from blue-collar roots before vaulting to the Ivy League by playing college baseball. His mother was a nurse and his father installed Nielsen TV-rating boxes in the Orlando and Tampa areas.
President Biden — 36 years DeSantis’ senior — already is the oldest-ever president at 80 and would be 86 if he completes a second term. Trump, 76, would be 82 upon leaving office.
The Floridian is expected to draw endorsements from key party figures who withheld their support until his official entry into the race and the pro-DeSantis super PAC boasts many alums from Trump’s former campaign and his administration, such as spokesman Steve Cortes and former Homeland Security official Ken Cuccinelli.
