So, first, a leaked opinion. Now, leaks from multiple sources on the status of a decision that has not been settled.

As a Justice, John Roberts strikes me as a bit of a wackadoodle. For example, for or against, his opinion on OCare was bizarre.

As a Chief Justice, as his tenure continues, he's beginning to appear to be inept to a degree that he's making the Doddering Old Fool in the Oval Office seem competent.

This Court has lost focus and discipline in a way that is unprecedented, no pun intended. And, unless Congress impeaches him, we're stuck until he retires or dies.

Anyway, the latest leak is that Roe's still on track to be overturned.

The leaked draft majority opinion penned by Alito is dated February 10 and has almost certainly changed multiple times in the almost three months since it was written, but three conservative sources close to the Court say that the votes supporting the decision remain unchanged, according to reporting from the Washington Post.

The justices set to join Alito's opinion include Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett.

Chief Justice John Roberts, who has at times sided with the liberal wing of the court, still appears set to oppose the decision, with the report noting that Roberts was still attempting to persuade Coney Barrett and Kavanaugh to take a more incremental approach to allowing abortion restrictions.

I think the provisional decision may have been leaked by a conservative SCOTUS justice as a trial balloon, and that by pinning the leak on a liberal/centrist justice, it serves as a sort of false flag event.

Btw, according to a PEW survey, 61% of Americans think that abortion should be legal in all or most cases.

Donna I agree with your theory that it was a conservative who leaked this draft decision as a trial balloon. And since it's a conservative who is the potential leaker I predict that despite the fact that there's a limited number of suspects the Supreme Court leak investigation will never reveal anything publicly.
