Their decision to break with the Biden administration appears to be less about the policy itself than how it’s perceived politically. Many of these moderate Democrats represent swing states and districts and are facing tough races this fall, where they will have to defend against GOP attacks that Democrats are soft on immigration.
I remember, probably as far back as the old forum, entering a thread about the disaster that is the Doddering Old Fart's handling of the southern border...
...and, Curt, in his typical sycophantic way, producing some stats to suggest that Joe has everything under control and that there's nuthin to see here. Curt's reply was so far from reality that, as I recall, I didn't even continue the thread.
Well, apparently, other Dems now see what "that feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap"...and Curt...won't see.
Perhaps a bigger point. If Joe can't handle his own party, when it controls everything in DC, how do you expect him to lead the West's response to Putin!
