I read the sequence of events that led up to officer Potter killing Daunte Wright. There was a warrant out for Wright for carrying an unregistered firearm and he had a restraining order out on him. He was also driving without a license or car registration. If he hadn't resisted arrest and returned to the driver's seat, he wouldn't have ended up getting shot and killed.
I don't often side with cops in incidents like this, but I agree with islander that Potter should have been charged and convicted of involuntary manslaughter.

I saw the body cam video at the time.
This is a tough one. I don't know the nuances of the law there. Common sense tells me that this was involuntary manslaughter.
I'm trusting the judge to practice wisdom in sentencing.

Disturbing piece by George Will. I had no idea this was going on.
