It's not a contradiction to say that drone strikes are more accurate then past forms of warfare but that the level of civilian casualties is unacceptable. The percent of civilian casualties in World War I, World War II and the Korean War was in the 60 to 67% neighborhood. Civilian casualties in drone strike wars is in the 15 to 20% range. In 2016, then-President Obama claimed the U.S. was waging the most precise air campaign in history. A reasonable reading of what Democracy Now! aired would be to conclude she was saying that the New York Times reporter was right therefore Obama was wrong.
