"And yet in the election, they still get a lot of votes from the Jewish people. Which tells you that the Jewish people, and I've said this for a long time, the Jewish people in the United States either don't like Israel or don't care about Israel."
The above quotes are from Trump, the originator or the Birther movement. His phony charge was that Obama wasn't a native-born American and that was somehow dangerous to our democracy. Yet, Trump bemoans that Israel doesn't own--with absolute power--the US Congress.

I feel Obama's birthplace is a non-issue. America is entitled to create a mythical origin story for its president as other countries have done and America has done for presidents in the past.
The comments about Israel are more relevant but I have no idea if the Israeli lobby has really lost influence. It strikes me as an attempt to drive a wedge between Jews and the democrats.
