NY TIMES, WASHINGTON — Over eight hours last Thursday night and into Friday morning, Representative Kevin McCarthy of California hit on many issues as he spoke on the House floor in an unsuccessful effort to thwart House passage of President Biden’s social safety net and climate change bill. But among his most audacious assertions was that Mr. Biden was to blame for the country’s failure to quell the pandemic.

Mr. McCarthy used this line of attack even as members of his own Republican Party have spent months flouting mask ordinances and blocking the president’s vaccine mandates, and the party’s base has undermined vaccination drives while rallying around those who refuse the vaccine. Intensive care units and morgues have been strained to capacity by the unvaccinated, a demographic dominated by those who voted last year for President Donald J. Trump.

As of mid-September, 90 percent of adult Democrats had been vaccinated, compared with 58 percent of adult Republicans.

Yet Mr. McCarthy, the House Republican leader, pressed his point: “I took President Biden at his word; I took him at his word when he said he was going to get Covid under control,” he declared in the dead of night. “Unfortunately, more Americans have died this year than last year under Covid.”

More evidence of GOP hypocrisy at link below.

Thing is, Curt. Masks? A Trump era strategy. Vaccines? Developed through Trump's Operation Warp Speed.

What has the flatulent fool done to fight Covid apart from using Big Brother tactics to foist Trump era solutions on America.

Exactly like me, McCarthy does oppose masks and vaxxes. He opposes Big Brotherism, which you obviously groove on.

Of course, we should blame the former 18 wheeler driver for the Covid mess. He's been in charge for ten months now and he's done nuthin new!

"Even in Highly Vaccinated New England, Hospitals Are Suffering

The northern New England states of Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont, all highly vaccinated, are suffering from surges that are taxing hospitals beset by staff shortages and sicker-than-usual patients."

I've said this before, Curt, the difference between you and me is that you believe the propaganda and I don't.

All three northern New England states are reporting that most of the hospitalized COVID patients are unvaccinated people from rural areas where vaccination rates are lower.

    Curt,

Trump's go to point is that he fast tracked the vaxxes you Blue MAGAs want to foist on the nation.

    Donna,

As verbose as I may be, I voted for Trump and not the "feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap" who has no ideas about fighting Covid that Trump did come up with in the first few days of the pandemic.

A big part of fighting COVID has slways been getting Americans to take it seriously and practice preventative measures, which Trump definitely did not do. In fact he downplayed it.
