It is similar to a point I have made repeatedly, namely electing a president is not electing one person but electing a team. Competency beats sycophancy as qualification to be part of a presidential administration...except to be in the Trump administration.

Franklin D. Roosevelt knew his shortcomings. FDR is famously described by Supreme Court Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr. as having a "second-class intellect, but a first-class temperament". FDR also wasn't ambulatory but he had trusted people to get out and about to hear what citizens were saying and concerned about.

Contrast FDR with Trump who claims to more than generals and everyone else. Biden was smart enough to know what he didn't know.

For the sake of argument, even if Biden was as incapable of doing his job as you claim he was, then it must have been those people he surrounded himself with who helped him do a rather remarkably good job. Which is exactly the opposite to Trump who has surrounded himself with totally inexperienced and incompetent sycophants which is why we are in the mess we are in now.

Don't be so sanctimonious that you fail to recognize the genius in the team that Susie Wiles has assembled. With very few exceptions, that team is doing, very effectively, what it has been assembled to do. The fact that you sneer and guffaw as you do frigginProves that point.

    Worst Presidential Cabinets
Historical surveys cite the following presidential cabinets among the worst in U.S. history, predominantly due to issues of incompetence, corruption, and scandal:

    1. Warren G. Harding’s (Rep., 1921-1923) cabinet is widely regarded as the worst of the worst due to the infamous Teapot Dome scandal, widespread corruption among cabinet members, and for exemplifying poor cabinet selection due to cronyism and misconduct.

    2. Ulysses S. Grant’s (Rep., 1869-1877) cabinet was plagued by corruption, the Whiskey Ring scandal, the Crédit Mobilier affair, and unethical governance.

    3. Donald J. Trump’s (Rep., 2017-2021 and 2025-2029) cabinets have been widely criticized for their lack of qualifications, record-setting high turnover rates, appointments based on loyalty over capability, conflicts of interest, stark public dissatisfaction, and poorly vetted appointees, but approved by Republican Senators.

The sanctimony and smug woke and progressive self-righteousness that produced those assessments got the weakest candidate ever to be elected President, elected President twice,... keep up the good work, man, baha

They're running out of material. You can tell. They certainly can't talk about all the "great" things dims are doing, or an original idea. That's why I don't even look at some of the threads. corundacurt wrote one here. and I was interested to see what you say.

cornudocurt- It is similar to a point I have made repeatedly, namely electing a president is not electing one person but electing a team. Competency beats sycophancy as qualification to be part of a presidential administration

So kissing ass is one of the primary attributes of an administration. Pretty funny.
Other than that, there is truth about "electing the 'team'" You just proved my point about not voting for dims.

Trump based his cabinet and other appointees on Fox employment or when it came to women - their looks. He's already fired two of his Barbie doll appointees for incompetence.

I said looooooooong ago that the Trump Cabinet is a TV show. So what? If the people are competent, who cares?

I despise Trump but, in Trump 2.0, Trump is essentially the face of the Executive Branch. Really it's Susie Wiles who's making the substantial decisions. There's a qualitative difference between the first and second gorl rounds.

The Cabinet selections create a new paradigm. And, it ain't entirely a bad thing

Thanks, Curt. That's another thing Trump supporters refuse to acknowledge.
For someone supposedly incapable of fulfilling his duties as president, like the Trumpsters keep repeating, here are some of the things Biden did in his single term in office...Compare that with the incredible danger and total mess that Trump has managed to put our country and the world in, and he did it in less than a year and a half in office. We are in this mess because Trump fired all the experienced and well qualified people and replaced them with unqualified, inexperiences and incompetent sycophants who's only requirement is that they must be loyal to him above all else...Autocratic leaders always end up by destroying themselves for this very same reason, and we're watching Trump do that right now.

The Biden administration passed the $1.2 trillion bipartisan infrastructure package to increase investment in the national network of bridges and roads, airports, public transport and national broadband internet, as well as waterways and energy systems.
Helped get more than 500 million life-saving COVID-19 vaccinations in the arms of Americans through the American Rescue Plan.
Stopped a 30-year streak of federal inaction on gun violence by signing the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act that created enhanced background checks, closed the “boyfriend” loophole and provided funds for youth mental health.
Made a $369 billion investment in climate change, the largest in American history, through the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022.
Ended the longest war in American history by pulling the troops out of Afghanistan.
Provided $10,000 to $20,000 in college debt relief to Americans with loans who make under $125,000 a year.
Cut child poverty in half through the American Rescue Plan.
Capped prescription drug prices at $2,000 per year for seniors on Medicare through the Inflation Reduction Act.
Passed the COVID-19 relief deal that provided payments of up to $1,400 to many struggling U.S. citizens while supporting renters and increasing unemployment benefits.
Achieved historically low unemployment rates after the pandemic caused them to skyrocket.
Imposed a 15% minimum corporate tax on some of the largest corporations in the country, ensuring that they pay their fair share, as part of the historic Inflation Reduction Act.
Recommitted America to the global fight against climate change by rejoining the Paris Agreement.
Strengthened the NATO alliance in support of Ukraine after the Russian invasion by endorsing the inclusion of world military powers Sweden and Finland.
Authorized the assassination of the Al Qaeda terrorist Ayman al-Zawahiri, who became head of the organization after the death of Osama bin Laden.
Gave Medicare the power to negotiate prescription drug prices through the Inflation Reduction Act while also reducing government health spending.
Held Vladimir Putin accountable for his invasion of Ukraine by imposing stiff economic sanctions.
Boosted the budget of the Internal Revenue Service by nearly $80 billion to reduce tax evasion and increase revenue.
Created more jobs in one year (6.6 million) than any other president in U.S. history.
Reduced healthcare premiums under the Affordable Care Act by $800 a year as part of the American Rescue Plan.
Signed the PACT Act to address service members’ exposure to burn pits and other toxins.
Signed the CHIPS and Science Act to strengthen American manufacturing and innovation.
Reauthorized the Violence Against Women Act through 2027.
Halted all federal executions after the previous administration reinstated them after a 17-year freeze.

Great post, islander. Nevermind our Fifth Avenue Trumpsters, islander. Great post, and thank you for your efforts 💓

  13. by HatetheSwamp on April 15, 2026 3:37 pm

"Thanks, Curt. That's another thing Trump supporters refuse to acknowledge..."

That is as may be, isle. But, it's irrelevant on SS. You wokes and progressives, in your intolerance and sanctimony, forced the last Trump supporter away loooong ago.

  14. by Indy! on April 15, 2026 6:22 pm

Have you looked in a mirror lately? There are two dyed in the wool MAGAts still on this board.

  15. by islander on April 15, 2026 8:17 pm

Hate's little disclaimer doesn't fly here. The foks on this board can see right through that. He is indeed a Trump supporter, apologist, and enabler.

Ever since Trump announced his candidacy the first time, Hate's been in his camp and actively defending him ever since. He thought Trump was going to drain the swamp, but Trump and his minions are the swamp. That's why Hate voted for him 3 times.

  16. by HatetheSwamp on April 16, 2026 3:20 am

    isle,

Just curious (I'm just asking you because Indy has lost his brain since he gave his, heart, brain, and other body parts to Cackles Mckneepads in the summer of 024),...

... what IYO would have to be true of a person for that person to, accurately, be considered:

    1. MAGA,
    2. A Trump supporter?

Perhaps the issue between us is a matter of definition.

  17. by islander on April 16, 2026 6:10 am

A Trump supporter would be somebody who votes for Trump, especially three times.

A MAGA is someone who votes for Trump and supports what he is doing, and that can be done as an apologist who supports him by attacking Trump's opponents. Most apologists try not to be seen as Trump Supporters.

  18. by HatetheSwamp on April 16, 2026 7:14 am

    isle,

Those are inadequate definitions, but, they're yours, and I respect that.
