The Wyoming Republican party will no longer recognize Liz Cheney as a member of the GOP in a rebuke over her vote to impeach Donald Trump over his role in the 6 January insurrection.
The vote by the state party central committee followed votes by local GOP officials in about one-third of Wyoming’s 23 counties to no longer recognize Cheney as a Republican.
The vote is the group’s second formal rebuke for her criticism of Trump. In February, the Wyoming GOP central committee voted overwhelmingly to censure Cheney, Wyoming’s lone US representative.
You gotta love the foreign press.
The only US TV we watch is sports and HGTV reality stuff. There's no program we watch that is a US drama or comedy.
What we do watch we get from Britbox and Acorn. A lot of British and New Zealand stuff...who'd'a thought?
We have learned that the people of the UK take it for granted that the US is the center of the universe.
I have also learned that, often, the best reporting on US politics comes from sources across the proverbial pond. Hence, this reporting on Lizzie Cheney and the Wyoming GOP.
Generally, I admire Liz Cheney and I certainly don't reject her opposition to Trump, whom I think is despicable, whom I despise.
I objected to her vote for impeachment because the vote was taken before the 1/6 events were thoroughly investigated. In my mind, that vote was stereotypical lynch mob thinking.
BTW, I support her membership on the January 6 Commission. What I despise about the Commission is that the Dems denied the GOPs the ability to appoint their own members. But, as far as Cheney's participation, you go girl!
Anyway, I think Liz will survive the primary. I hope she does.
And, this is reporting that is objective and journalistic, unlike anything you'll find from an American source.
