WASHINGTON (TNND) — The Pentagon told Congress the first week of Operation Epic Fury cost the U.S. $11.3 billion, according to The Associated Press.

The conflict with Iran is heading into its second week, while President Donald Trump said Wednesday that it will be over “soon,” as gas prices continue to be impacted. The conflict also disrupted global energy markets by affecting traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, a critical route that controls nearly 20% of global oil supplies.

“We have done more damage than we thought possible, even in the original six-week period,” Trump said in a phone interview with Axios. Trump is apparently referring to his damage to the US.

I read that $5 billion of that was for munitions and has caused a shortage in something.

  2. by HatetheSwamp on March 12, 2026 11:15 am

Curt's number is less than .003% of the national debt that none of you woke and progressives give a dang about. So, by your ciphers nbd, eh, baha

  3. by Indy! on March 12, 2026 11:25 am

Nobody cares about the national debt including you, Brown Shorts. DICK Cheney - one of YOUR swamp guys said himself "the national debt doesn't matter." And if you actually DID care? You would know the FIRST thing we need to change to get out from under that debt is to REDUCE the military expenditures. But that's not going to happen because your DADDY - the orange ass monkey - wants to increase the military budget by a LUDICROUS 50%!

So stfu about the national debt until you at least UNDERSTAND it.

  4. by HatetheSwamp on March 12, 2026 11:30 am

    Indy,

pb opposed the OBBB precisely because it would expand the national debt. I ain't a hypocrite.

  5. by Indy! on March 12, 2026 11:33 am

First off - I don't remember you being against ANYTHING Trump. Secondly, that $11B is only the first week of the conflict that will be lasting for years. You're a child in the world of finance - you have no idea how to cut the debt or deficit. None.

  6. by Curt_Anderson on March 12, 2026 11:40 am
$11.3 billion is actually 0.03% of the total U.S. national debt.

There is good debt and there is bad debt. If we borrow $10,000 from the bank to replace our leaky roof that's good debt because we will avert disaster with the next rainstorm and save money in the long run. If we borrow $10,000 to pay off gambling debts that's bad debt.

Trump made a bad bet that an unnecessary war of choice would be quick and easy and distract from the Epstein files.

  8. by HatetheSwamp on March 12, 2026 11:54 am

"There is good debt and there is bad debt." Dem debt rocks, eh!!!!!?

  9. by Indy! on March 12, 2026 12:01 pm

Can't remember you ever saying anything against the Aghanistan war that cost us $5 Trillion last I heard (and counting). Most of the debt comes from the GOP's decisions and policies.

  10. by meagain on March 12, 2026 3:01 pm
The national debt is not the right metric to measure against. It is the accumulation of generations of deficits. That 11.3 billion adds to this years deficit. Doing that will give a much more concerning picture.

I think its pretty funny funny that youre whining about thie, but when there was a few more billion saved from the cia you said that was so little it didnt matter. i guess tps has its Advantages, eg?

Regarding the straits of whormous we sank 16 9f their mine layers alone. their navy has been laid to waste, as has their air force.

im hoping their government topples fairly soon so the people can rise up soon andto have a government they want. apparently, the theology they have now isnt working for them. but if trumpster is helping theme, you hate a free society.

So i guess your talking point you were fed from your supreme leader was called for what it was, bs

"Then either you are joining the Doddering Old Fool or you weren't paying attention" -pedophile's bitch

pedophile's bitch and olde dude are presently the only ones here who have joined and are following a deranged, doddering old fool as they pay no attention to the realities going on in the world in order to continue following him.

Trump has been making Biden look like a forty-year-old Jeopardy champion for months now.

Hegseth is grossly incompitent. There was absolutely no planninv for the possibility that Iran would shut down the SOH.

And 4 more U.S. miltary were killed.

  15. by HatetheSwamp on March 13, 2026 8:05 am

    "Hegseth is grossly incompitent"

Interesting. Just yesterday, Clay and Buck were saying he's the smartest person we've had in that position in a long time.

I guess this is an example of competing subjectivities.

  16. by Donna on March 13, 2026 8:17 am

    Oh well then!

Who the fuck are Clay and Buck, Petey's drinking buddies?

  17. by HatetheSwamp on March 13, 2026 8:27 am

HolyfreakinfrigginEFFINcow, Donna, you are worse than Curt is with that gay Guy he never heard of. Clay and Buck replaced Rush. They're on over 500 radio stations.

They compose the daily right-wing narrative almost as much as does Fox.

  18. by Navy2711 on March 13, 2026 9:02 am

    1. Idiot's response to this is that he heard two wingers say that a moron is brilliant. And then he labels the situation "competing subjectivities" ... as if that's saying anything at all. As if the opinions of Buck and Fuck on Fascist Talk Radio should in any way factor into this discussion.

There's nothing subjective about this. The FACTS show that Hegseth, when judged by the standards of his predecessors, is GROSSLY incompetent.

    2. I'd like to once again declare that I am NOT in favor of napalming all of Appalachia and ridding our country of stupid people that act like an anchor holding back our society, as some have suggested we do. There are many kind, intelligent people in Appalachia.

  19. by HatetheSwamp on March 13, 2026 9:08 am

No. pb said that they write the right-wing narrative.

  20. by Donna on March 13, 2026 12:26 pm

Clay and Buck replaced Rush. They're on over 500 radio stations. - Hts

Democracy Now! is on over 1,500 radio and TV stations worldwide.

  21. by meagain on March 13, 2026 12:37 pm
PB has been prattling about subjectivity for a few years, Navy. He thinks Kierkegaarde said that subjectivity is truth. He can't understand the distinction Kierkegarde made.

  22. by HatetheSwamp on March 13, 2026 2:24 pm

    From AI:

Clay and Buck: As of early 2022, the show's podcast version was generating over 10 million downloads per month. As a top-tier conservative radio program that replaced The Rush Limbaugh Show, its reach across radio, podcasts, and online streaming is in the millions.

Democracy Now!: While widespread, with over 1,500 public television and radio affiliates, Democracy Now! is a niche independent news program whose audience size is smaller than major commercial radio franchises.

If you dream that Democracy Now controls the woke narrative more than Clay and Buck do the right-wing's, dream away! On your side, Curt's Holy Trinity rules with a fist of iron, as far as I can tell.

  23. by HatetheSwamp on March 13, 2026 2:26 pm

"He can't understand the distinction Kierkegarde made."

No doubt, meagain. Fill me in.

Then keep watching content designed for gullible prople.

  25. by HatetheSwamp on March 13, 2026 2:47 pm

    Watch?

My point is that Clay and Buck influence the right to a huge degree. They bore me. But, they are extremely important.

  26. by Ponderer on March 13, 2026 5:03 pm

"My point is that Clay and Buck influence the right to a huge degree." -pedophile's bitch

And I think Donna's point is that "the right to a huge degree" is much much smaller a minority than you think it is.

  27. by HatetheSwamp on March 13, 2026 5:30 pm

    Who's President again?

  28. by Ponderer on March 13, 2026 5:39 pm

Seriously. A LOT smaller than you think. And it's been getting smaller and smaller for months now.

Don't remember us ever saving a few billion on the CIA, but even if we did a "few" is not the same as 5000 which is what $5 Trillion is - 5000 billion. Yeah, MAGAts and math - I know. 🙄 This Iran conflict is going to last for years - not weeks.

  30. by meagain on March 14, 2026 3:10 pm
    Fill you in?

He was thinking of moral, religious, and ethical 'truths." Truths that cannot be proved and could as well be wrong. But, they are true to the believer in his personal relation to them.

    Roughly.
