I am going to go turn on Fox News and use a stopwatch to see how long it takes before someone tells a lie.

I've done something like this experiment every time I've turned on Fox News. I tell myself that I'll watch until someone tells some bullshit lie. Consequently, I have never even made it to the commercial break.

I shall post this now and then post the results on my experiment below when my research concludes...

    52.89 seconds!

Wow! That may be a new record!

They were talking about a tax thing that Mamdani is doing regarding billionaires that is supposedly driving them all out of the state, when one of their expert commentators declared that the billionaires in the state are paying "almost all of the state's taxes".

Tell me, AI... Do the billionaires in New York pay almost all of the taxes in the state?

    It found this...

New York City’s tax burden is heavily concentrated among very high earners, but no provided source gives a definitive percentage of New York City taxes paid specifically by billionaires; available data instead documents that millionaires and the top one percent pay roughly 40–45% of personal income tax revenue in recent years. The studies and news pieces cited emphasize that a tiny share of filers—well under 2%—account for roughly two-fifths to nearly half of personal income tax receipts, while proposals to increase rates on millionaires or high earners are framed as targeting that concentrated base.

So they don't even pay most of the taxes there. So,

po, Just so you know, no one who posts on SS thinks Fox reports news. What's stunning is that you think your The Rachel does. Oh, and, be sure to filter out your narcissism. And,...

Be sure to quote the lie.

I think you're misquoting the Fox guy. Which Fox guy? Did an actual Fox employee say anything close to your misquote? C'mon man. Gimme a break!

"What's stunning is that you think your The Rachel does." -pedophile's bitch

What she presents certainly does count as news. When she's presenting what was done in a court hearing that day, the transcripts that she shows and cites, the tapes of people involved and what they were saying... that all isn't news? How is that not news?

Yeah, she will have someone or a panel of people who are giving analysis of the day's events, which I am free to take with however much salt I care to. But how is her presenting the facts of what occurred not "news"...?

Well, you think wrong. I am not. I made a point to remember the exact wording that he used, so that I could quote it here for you accurately. Which is what I did.

I don't know who the commentator was. I was just listening for the first lie I heard and focused on that.

He declared that the billionaires in the state are paying "almost all of the state's taxes".

I would like to know what show you were watching. There's a lot of "pundits" and a few true news shows. So that would make a huge difference. And of course, knowing who's doing the talking is very important. Just like it is on every station that claims to be a "news source." AND the same thing I would do if I was going to do your "scientific" study.

The other wildcard here is what you consider a "LIE." When I read your "thesis" says it's "heavily concentrated among very high earners" and there aren't any actual numbers on what they said. Okay. That tells my there aren't enough facts to make a decision either way, although it leans to the majority of the city collects more money from the wealthy. And I think you'll lose the debate if you do get those percentages. Not that I actually care about that.

There is something else I don't know. I don't know what percentage they are taxed, and what do they allow to be written off for state taxes. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say their percentage is less than the middle class. That's not a Mandami issue. It's generations of rich people making the rules and giving themselves tax breaks, Just like the feds have done. And then of course, there are "donations" and all that jazz that's funneled through to them.

What Idiot and OD seem to miss is that, although any given pundit on any given news source may present an inaccuracy, it is the news source's job to provide correction or at least push-back. Further, no source is perfect, so even when a source is committed to accuracy, some errors will still slip through.

We all know that Ponderer could have watched for another 52.89 seconds and encountered another "error." And then another. And another.

Fox is not just overly error-prone. They are propa-f*cking-GANDA. These "errors" are INTENTIONAL.

Just wait until you get a segment on the environment / climate change, such as Trump's recent repeal of climate regulation. Fox pundits will be spitting "errors" like a machine gun. 52.89 seconds will seem like an eternity.

  11. by Ponderer on February 12, 2026 3:45 pm

Thanks, Navy. I knew that it wouldn't be long. But I did think that it would take at least a couple minutes or so.

    po,

You are such a narcissist... a universe center-er... of the first water.

I watched the Rachel-hosted 024 Ms NOW election coverage. It was as fascinating as all getout. All the numbers were reported with precision. All the state results were reported correctly and in a timely manner.

Here's the thing. Frequently, during the evening, the Ms NOW crowd abused their pronouns. Dems were we/us.

That's how The Rachel abuses their journalistic craft. They don't report. They root and cheer and preach. For all its bias, even CNN doesn't abuse pronouns.

You're a hoot and please. Please please please please... PLEASE! Don't ever change. We love you just the way you are!!!!!
