Congress Nixes Visas for Afghan Partners, Closing Off a Key Path
President Trump froze a program to allow Afghans who had worked with American troops to come to the United States. Now Congress has quietly scrapped the visas, leaving little hope of reviving them.

WASHINGTON, Nov 29 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration has ordered its diplomats worldwide to stop processing visas for Afghan nationals, according to a State Department cable seen by Reuters, effectively suspending the special immigration program for Afghans who helped the United States during its 20-year-long occupation of their home country.

The cable, sent to all U.S. diplomatic posts on Friday, says that effective immediately, consular officers are instructed to reject any immigrant or non-immigrant visa applications from Afghan nationals including applicants for Special Immigrant Visas.

Officials stated he passed all checks, including National Counterterrorism Center database reviews, biometrics (fingerprints/photos), and interviews. Trump chooses to re-vet the Afghans, because we now have tens of thousands of terrorists (right)? Or is it that we now have tens of thousands of terrorists and it's trumpster's fault. Sometimes ex-military who have been scrutinized and have met the most stringent standards go off the deep-end to commit heinous crimes. Sometimes convicts who served their time with good behavior are released and become recidivists. Sometimes straight-laced honor roll students become school shooters. Prospective police go through rigorous background checks, yet they sometimes prove themselves unworthy of their uniform.
