No doubt, Curt. That aspect is what the loudest voices in the trans community are purposely ignoring. IMO they're counting on non-trans people -- who are generally uneducated on the process of transitioning, especially regarding hormonal effects on the body, i.e. what changes and what doesn't -- to automatically go along with what they're saying so as not to appear insensitive to trans people and being cast as un-woke.
Earlier this year I brought up this issue on Facebook and it was received very well by my FB friends who responded, all of whom were liberal or progressive. Some even thanked me for educating them. I got some push-back from one person, but we had a discussion and I sensed that I got through to her to some degree. Part of what I hoped to accomplish was to make it okay for non-trans people to speak out against trans women athletes competing with cis women.
I also took part in several discussions about comedian Dave Chappelle's latest video "The Closer" that was met with sharp disapproval by the woke left and the loudest voices in the trans community. Sheri and I watched The Closer and we laughed our asses off! We weren't in the least bit offended, and we generally agreed with what he was saying - that being female is much more than having a female gender identity, and that trans women will never be fully female.
