Should we go? I mean, they're shooting unarmed peaceful protestors all over the place and it's a federal building and all. They REALLY hate peaceful protestors protesting peacefully at federal buildings.

I wouldn't even take a sign or anything. Just my cellphone camera and a powerful set of lungs.

I really want to go. But I also don't want to get shot in the face just for being there. I do only have one working eye left after all.

Whatta ya all think? I was thinking of even wearing my ANTIFA hat. But maybe that would just give these Gestapo fuckersofmothers too juicy of a target to pass up?

    Go, po, go.

Go to the protest - leave the hat at home. Maybe take some eye protection. 🙂

    Ponderer,
There is a ICE office in nearby Medford. There will be and has been protests there. I won't be going to them. I have attended the larger Indivisible-sponsored and similar more general anti-ICE and anti-Trump rallies.

So I am not encouraging you to go to the federal building protest. That seems more confrontational. I am not volunteering, but I am happy to see that some people are confronting ICE where they live so to speak. I am especially glad to see people videoing the Gestapo tactics of ICE agents. I really like seeing ICE agents slipping on Minneapolis ice and landing on their ass!

Indy!, I wear glasses. But I think I might get a strap or something to hold them on my head.

I've decided that if I do go, I'm not going to this thing looking like anything other than a peaceful protestor. One who is fully within her Constitutional rights to peacefully protest for a redress of her grievances.

And boy howdy, duz she gots some grievances.

I've been thinking of this for a few days now. I would like to take this opportunity to make this oath...

As I engage in exercising my First Amendment Right, I will provide no visible reason to think of me as anything but a peaceful, unarmed, non-violent protestor. I will carry nothing in my hands but a cellphone (After all, I may need both hands for that). I will hurl back nothing that was hurled at me. There will be no cellphone footage from any vantage point of me doing anything antagonizing, threatening, suspicious, inciteful, or provoking... other than perhaps exercising my First Amendment right to give them a fucking mouth full. I will be a peaceful protestor, hurling nothing at them but the truth as loud as my lungs will allow.

(...Just in case anyone in this forum is later contacted by the media.)

  5. by HatetheSwamp on January 15, 2026 12:09 pm

The threat to you will be from the St Renee's in the mob, not the Jonathan Rosses.

Question: If this will be a genuinely peaceful gathering, what reason would ICE have to be present?

  6. by Ponderer on January 15, 2026 12:11 pm

Curt, it's kinda my federal building too. I've been in there a half dozen times or so for licenses and tax stuff. And if things look like they are getting at all really nuts, I will stay way to the rear of it.

Ooop! But then a phalanx of Gestapo Pigs turns the corner right behind me... and suddenly I'm at the front of another front...!

Boy. Simply exercising one's Constitutional rights is getting to have some pretty complex logistical considerations anymore.

  7. by Ponderer on January 15, 2026 12:56 pm

I refined it and put it on Facebook. Maybe it'll get wings....

    THE PEACEFUL PROTESTOR'S PLEDGE

    • As I engage in exercising my First Amendment Rights of free speech and to peacefully assemble to petition the government for a redress of my grievances, though I have a great many I will provide no visible reason for anyone to think of me as anything but a peaceful, unarmed, non-violent protestor exercising my legal right to film in public and express my views.

    • I will carry nothing in my hands but a cellphone (After all, I may need both hands for that).

    • I will hurl back nothing that was hurled at me, nor any other object.

    • There will be no cellphone footage from any vantage point taken of me doing anything antagonizing, threatening, suspicious, inciteful, or provoking for I shall do no such things... other than perhaps exercising my First Amendment right to give these Gestapo fuckers a fucking mouth full.

    • I will be a peaceful protestor, hurling nothing at them but the truth as loudly and colorfully as my lungs will allow.

So help me Constitution of the United States of America

    FYI

What to do during an ICE encounter in public:
Stay Calm & Don't Run: Panicking or fleeing can be seen as resisting or a reason for arrest, according to sources like the National Immigration Law Center (NILC) and the Immigrant Legal Resource Center (ILRC).
    Ask Key Questions:
"Am I free to go?" or "Am I being detained?".
If "Yes" (Free to Go): Calmly and silently walk away.
    If "No" (Detained):
Remain Silent: Clearly state, "I am using my right to remain silent".
Don't Consent to Searches: Say, "I do not consent to this search".
Provide ID (If Required): You may need to show a non-expired state or tribal ID, but you don't have to answer questions.
Record if Possible: If you feel safe, use your phone to record the interaction or ask someone nearby to.
Don't Argue or Obstruct: Remain polite and avoid escalating the situation.
    Key rights to remember:
    Right to remain silent.
Right to ask if you are free to leave.
Right to refuse consent to searches.

"What to do during an ICE encounter in public..."

Why would ICE be anywhere near your happy little gathering?

Hundreds of people from Tucson, Arizona, gathered at the federal building in downtown Tucson to protest against the Trump regime and ICE 1/20/2026

It doesn't sound like there were any problems or incidents.

po-It's tomorrow. And my back has made other plans.

Lots of empathy with me, also. I'm finishing up three years of pain therapy. Later on this year, I'll have surgery on three vertebrae that have been crooked since the 1980's. That's been hell the last decades. Get better, okay?

It seems like your issues have been as long and mine, and as I remember, worse.

Thanks for the well wishes, y'all. I just got my third epidural treatment and it's doing a good job for me so far.

This just came out a couple hours ago...

Photos: Hundreds protest Trump administration in downtown Tucson

Hundreds gathered in downtown Tucson on the one-year anniversary of President Donald Trump's second inauguration to protest him and his administration on Tuesday afternoon.

I'm kinda curious... Where are all the MAGA Hat rallies to counter the incredibly popular message that Donald Trump sucks ass? Where's all the Trump love being proudly proclaimed in the streets?

AZ AG Kris Mayes was interviewed. I'll look for a link you all can access. Her office is next to the ICE hq, and she said that it looks like they're gearing up for a major operation.

She went on to encourage everyone to record ICE's activities, and she stressed that all laws of fhe State of Arizona will be enforced. She also brought up that Arizona has a "Stand Your Ground" law that "rivals Florida's", and she talked about how people here have the right to defend themselves if they're ever threatened or assaulted by individuals purporting to be ICE who don't show proper identification.
