WASHINGTON – A Pentagon watchdog found that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth risked the safety of American troops and their mission when he discussed a covert military operation in Yemen over the commercial messaging app Signal, but that he had the right to declassify the information, according to a person who has seen the report.

Has anyone else noticed it's always the wingnuts who give up troop movements, secret plans and positions? Hegseth now - Geraldo during the Gulf War (see photo).

Has anyone else noticed it's always the wingnuts who give up troop movements, secret plans and positions?

Except it was cliton that wouldn't use a classified phone and put classified material on her unclassified blackberry. And then she mixed the "wedding plans" with the same phone. And, she had her classified server unsecured in her bathroom. All of this was when she was "secretary of 'state.'"

And this was just what she admitted to doing...

curt- To be sure. Pete using a non-secure source IS a violation. I'm not going to use any reasons, justification, or excuses for him. He shoulda known. Period. Now we have to go through the political game. None of us here have a "say" in that. Heck, I'm the only one that's even had a clearance. So there's that.

Am I going to say it "didn't endanger troops?" Yes, just as clitons use of a non-secure phone did. They need to take that phone away from him and give him a phone that has been certified for classified material up through TOP SECRET. And someone, please teach him!

So (the inclusive) "we" are caught in a conundrum. cliton did the same thing. What happened? nothing. And you kept bringing that up. So this is a tit for tat, the precedence has been set.

    OD,
I agree with your condemnation of Hegseth. While there are some parallels, I don't believe it was ever determined that Hillary did anything as careless as including a reporter on a group chat about the highly sensitive details of planned military strikes in Yemen.

I think more about what would've happened to a guy like you when you were in the government service had you done anything similar to what Pete Hegseth and the other high-ranking government officials did in Signalgate.

    Yeah, well.... you're forgetable.

Curt- First, that doesn't matter. If you break the rules doing classified, you break the rules. cliton, had one of her "people" take off the classifications on documents and place them on an unclassified server where clinton could get to them on an unclass server. I break it down in the next three paragraphs. You can skip them, read the last three paragraphs, and get the SCOPE Note. If you have questions, that's what the middle is for. You're call.

CONFIDENTIAL- is on what they call the NIPR system These can be used in offices, etc. If there is someone without the clearance around, you just black your screen out while they're in the room.

SECRET (SIPR network)- Must be in an area/room that meets specific controls for that level of message traffic. Visitors must be vetted to enter the facility. If someone without a SECRET clearance comes in, all the computers must be blacked out and any paperwork must be hidden or covered for the duration of the visit. This is a lower version of a SCIF. Any computer on a SIPR network cannot be put on any other network.

TOP SECRET (JWICS)- JWICS is it's own secure network. Like the other two, you can't plug in a JWICS computer to any other network system (which is part of what clinton did) The computers must pass a government standard for communication control (e.g. your cell phones don't work because of the inability of eves-dropping techniques are employed). There can't be windows in any part of the SCIF. AND any note-taking, must stay inside the SCIF in a safe.

With all of that. cliton's aids got on the JWICS and downloaded classified documents and emails on to either a CD or a jump drive (which makes both of those classified to he highest classification of any document/ email on that drive. The minion then went over the documents and removed the "classification" of the document/email, which she doesn't have the authority to do (and it wasn't even "declassifying" the documents. It was an illegal dumping of the classification.

So. cliton illegally copied classified information, saved it on an illegal server (NOT RATED for even CONFIDENTIAL, much less SECRET or TOP SECRET.

To your statement regarding was this "as bad" as what pete did. The secretary of state would be kept in the loop on global movement of troops, counter-intelligence regarding foreign countries, updates of foreign government movements and issues, updates of operations, gray, brown, and black global ops the state department were tied to, along with nuclear status' of our weapons as well as foreign governments. So absolutely, her information would create FAR MORE HARM than petes.

cliton had so little regard for her position that she kept her daughter's wedding plans on the same phone.
