Could this be the end for Trump? The beginning of the end? The end of the beginning? It does show that some Republicans have a conscience and will not let Trump give Putin what he wants. Without this, there could well be a serious rift with Europe. Britain, Frane, and Germany have just said they still stand by Ukraine and will not support this gift-wrapped Christmas present for Putin.

BREAKING: House Republican DEFIES Trump’s pro-Putin pressure — moves to ram through “crushing Russia sanctions” as MAGA melts down.
Donald Trump’s months-long love affair with Vladimir Putin just hit a wall — and that wall’s name is Republican Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick.
In a stunning rebuke of Trump’s pressure campaign to force Ukraine into a Russia-friendly “peace deal,” Pennsylvania Rep. Fitzpatrick has filed a discharge petition to FORCE a House vote on bipartisan sanctions so punishing they’d make Putin choke on his morning propaganda briefing.
And here’s the kicker: Fitzpatrick did it while blasting Trump’s “Russian-drafted propaganda” — yes, a Republican openly accusing the president of parroting Kremlin talking points.
Meanwhile, the White House is still twisting Ukraine’s arm to surrender territory, accept limits on its military, and essentially gift-wrap eastern Ukraine for Putin. But Fitzpatrick’s bill would do the exact opposite, mandating 500% tariffs on any country buying Russian oil; crippling new banking sanctions; visa bans; asset freezes; and total economic ruin for anyone propping up Putin’s war machine.
In other words: exactly what Trump doesn’t want.
Here’s why MAGAworld is panicking:
• The Senate already has a veto-proof majority behind the sanctions.
• The House bill boasts 119 co-sponsors — a ton of Republicans included.
• Fitzpatrick only needs 218 signatures to force Speaker Mike Johnson’s hand.
So naturally, Trump buckled. After months of blocking the bill, he suddenly claimed he’s “OK” with a vote — the political equivalent of pretending you were never against something after you realize you’re about to lose.
Even Senate GOP Leader John Thune is nudging the House to move first… while Speaker Johnson tries to throw the hot potato back to the Senate. It’s a full-scale Republican circular firing squad.
Meanwhile, pro-Ukraine Republicans like Lindsey Graham are practically screaming that passing these sanctions is the only way to stop Putin’s genocidal invasion — and to counter Trump’s Moscow-friendly “peace” giveaway.
The bottom line?
A Republican just launched a rebellion against Trump’s Putin-first foreign policy — and if Democrats and anti-MAGA Republicans unite, they could hand Trump one of the biggest foreign policy humiliations of his presidency.
The vote is coming. The question is whether the GOP will stand with America’s allies — or keep bowing to the Kremlin’s favorite president.
