Just saw something on TV about Zohran Mamdani and the tax increase he's pushing causing the city's oligarchs to snowflake out like typical whiny bitch pussies they are - saying they're going to move to New Jersey or Florida to escape the...

"DRACONIAN TAX INCREASES!!!

IT's SOCIALISM, COMMUNISM AND DISCRIMINATION AGAINST THE WEALTHY!!!!!

CLASS WARFARE!!!!

WE CAN'T AFFORD TO DO BUSINESS IN NY ANYMORE!!!

MOMMY! MOMMY! I WANT MY MUMMY!!!!"

So how much does Mamdani want to raise taxes on these weak beta cock suckers?

A MEASLY 2% ON PEOPLE MAKING OVER $1 MILLION A YEAR!!!

🙄 🙄 🙄 🙄 🙄 🙄 🙄 🙄 🙄 🙄 🙄 🙄 🙄

Jebus freakin' Christ. These guys have been gouging the F*CK out of America since covid and they're crying their widdle, itty bitty BLACK hearts out over a 2% increase in taxes for MILLIONAIRES.

But you know what's even worse than that? I saw this on MSNBC - yes, I was so bored I turned on MSNBC to see what was happening out there in politics today. And guess what Ari Melber was saying about the tax...

"Well the top 10% has been making out while everyone else suffers maybe (MAYBE?) we should be taxing them a little more

WHAT THE ABSOLUTE F*CK? "MAYBE" we should tax them another 2%?

No F that - let's tax them another 32%. And if they whine about it? Make it 42%

That is correct. Mamdani’s plan calls for generating $4bn with a 2% increase on those earning more than $1m annually. Though it’s a city tax, the state legislature must approve the increase. Also Mamdani estimates a state tax increase between 7.25% and 11.5% on corporate profits would generate about $5bn, much of which would be funneled to New York City. The legislature and governor would have to approve the plan.

So his proposals are not entirely within Mamdani's control. Which is typical of most campaign promises. Compromises may be made. Maybe he will get some of what he wanted.

Higher taxes on the wealthy and corporations practically invented the middle class.

    Ponderer,
    What does that mean?

"his proposals are not entirely within Mamdani's control. Which is typical of most campaign promises."

Bang on, Curt, on the first part. But, I'd love to know how you concluded what MOST campaigns do. The idiocy of Z's promises is that it'll be absolutely impossible to get the state government to change taxes to support his commie policies.

    Two reasons:

    1. Even many Dems in Albany, let alone the GOPs, don't agree with Z's policies. Many New York Dems are classic MARIO Cuomo old-time liberals. They won't enable Z's Stalinism.
    2. New York's budget is already a friggin mess. From AI;

New York State has a substantial budget debt, with the highest debt burden in the nation alongside California. The state's debt includes both general obligations and a large amount of debt issued by public authorities, which can circumvent constitutional limits on state borrowing.

New York has the second-highest debt burden among U.S. states, behind California. Its total state and local debt is estimated to be the second-highest in the nation.

The state projects issuing significantly more debt than it will retire in the coming years, further increasing the debt burden.

    "Ponderer,
    What does that mean?"
    -Curt

It means that it was the high taxes that corporations paid way back then which was what helped the middle class to be as sussessful as it's been since the 50's.

The Repubs like Curt and Brown Shorts don't understand that these debts and deficits come from the manipulation of tax law by the wealthy that's been happening for the last 45 years. NY is experiencing shortfalls because they are undertaxing the wealthy. There is no payoff for giving the wealthy tax breaks. They do not create new jobs. They do not allow the profits to flow down the economic ladder as they once did. You want some crazy news?

Tesla's corporate leaders have decided they are going to make Leon Musk the world's first trillionaire. True - google it to find your own sources you trust.

The average salary of Tesla workers? $57K - barely cost of living in today's world.

In 2024, Tesla laid off 10% of it's workers - approximately 14,000 employees.

Ponderer, you threw me with "high taxes" on the wealthy and corporations. I would say "appropriate taxes".

"NY is experiencing shortfalls because they are undertaxing the wealthy."

    No.

NY is experiencing shortfalls because some of the wealthy, who are able to escape the confiscatory taxes, now reside in TN, SC & FL.

You're an idiot. Stick to things you know - like who's appearing on your HeeHaw reruns or the Five today.
