El Presidente Donald Trump is the gringo version of brutal and corrupt dictators foisted on Latin American countries by their oligarchs and Yankee imperialists.

Chris Hedges

El Presidente Trump is cast in the mold of all tinpot Latin American despots who terrorize their populations, surround themselves with sycophants, goons and crooks, and enrich themselves — Trump and his family have amassed more than $1.8 billion in cash and gifts from leveraging the presidency — while erecting tawdry monuments to themselves.

“Trujillo on Earth, God in Heaven” — Trujillo en la tierra, Dios en el cielo — was posted by state order in churches during the 31-year reign of Rafael Leónidas Trujillo in the Dominican Republic. His supporters, like Trump’s, nominated him for the Nobel Peace Prize. Trump’s con artist pastor, Paula White-Cain, offered an updated version of Trujillo’s self-deification when she warned, “To say no to President Trump would be saying no to God.”

Trump is the gringo version of Anastasio “Tachito” Somoza in Nicaragua or Haiti’s François “Papa Doc” Duvalier, who amended the constitution to have himself anointed “President for Life.” One of the most celebrated images of the Haitian dictator’s long rule shows Jesus Christ with a hand on the shoulder of a seated Papa Doc, with the caption, “I have chosen him.”

ICE thugs are the incubus of Papa Doc’s dreaded 15,000-strong Tonton Macoute, his secret police who indiscriminately detained, beat, tortured, jailed or killed 30,000 to 60,000 of Duvalier’s opponents and which, along with the Presidential Guard, consumed half the state budget.

El Presidente Trump is Venezuela’s Juan Vicente Gómez, who looted the nation to make himself the wealthiest man in the country and disdained public education to — in the words of the scholar Paloma Griffero Pedemonte — “keep the people ignorant and docile.”

El Presidente — in every dictatorship — follows the same playbook. It is a grotesque opera buffa. No encomium is too outrageous. No bribe too small. No violation of civil liberties too extreme. No stupidity too absurd. All dissent, no matter how tepid, is treason.

Executive orders, budget cuts, gerrymandering, the seizure of polling stations and voting machines, the abolition of mail-in balloting, the overseeing of the vote count and the purging of voter rolls ensure fixed election results.

Institutions, from the press to the universities, kneel down before the idiocy of El Presidente. Legislatures are obsequious echo chambers for El Presidente’s whims and self-delusions. It is a world of magical realism, where fantasy replaces reality, mythology replaces history, the immoral is moral, tyranny is democracy and lies are true.

It is not only violence and intimidation that keep El Presidente in power. It is the stupefying inversion of reality, the daily denial of what we perceive and its replacement by disorienting fictions that keep us off balance. This, combined with state-induced fear, turns countries into open-air prisons. Human consciousness is bombarded until it is broken and becomes a well-oiled cog in the vast carceral machine.

  6. by HatetheSwamp on November 10, 2025 8:10 am

Exactly, Indy. But, the tone and the content are what Donna and po are fed when they consume what want to convince themselves is "news."

  7. by Donna on November 10, 2025 2:56 pm

It's history. I bet if you looked up all those despots, you'd find that Hedges is correct.

  8. by Donna on November 10, 2025 3:01 pm

    From the same piece:

Julie Brown, in her book “Perversion of Justice: The Jeffrey Epstein Story,” writes that an anonymous woman, using the pseudonym “Kate Johnson,” filed a civil complaint in federal court in California in 2016, alleging she was raped by Trump and Epstein — when she was 13 — over a four-month period from June to September 1994.

“I loudly pleaded with Defendant Trump to stop,” she said in the lawsuit. “Trump responded to my pleas by violently striking me in the face with his open hand and screaming that he could do whatever he wanted.”

Johnson said she met Trump at one of Epstein’s “underage sex parties” at his New York mansion. She says she was forced to have sex with Trump several times, including once with another girl — 12 years old — whom she labeled “Marie Doe.”

Trump demanded oral sex and afterward “pushed both minors away while angrily berating them for the ‘poor’ quality of their sexual performance,” according to the lawsuit, filed in April 26, 2016, in the U.S. District Court in the Central District of California.

When Epstein learned Trump had taken Johnson’s virginity, he allegedly “attempted to strike her about the head with his closed fists,” furious that he had lost the opportunity.

Trump, she said, did not take part in Epstein’s orgies. He liked to watch while 13-year-old “Kate Johnson” gave him a hand job.

Johnson said Epstein and Trump threatened to harm her and her family if she spoke of their encounters.

  9. by Indy! on November 10, 2025 5:22 pm

I have no doubt Hedges' historical references are accurate - the question is the accuracy of his comparisons to what T rump has been doing. Levels, Donna - T rump is horrible - but he's not on the level of the Ton Ton Macoute (at least not yet). This has always been Hedges problem (and most likely why he is still shunned by most media outlets) - he embellishes with far too much hyperbole.

I marvel that the left can't see themselves as the despots. They murdered a guy that didn't agree with them for "freedom of speech." They bomb the "right to life offices" because of "freedom of 'speech.'" And yet, they are so unaware of that because they are too hateful of their own character.

Obviously, trumpster are on a 50/50 approval rating even with me. Yet, compared with pedojoe, he hasn't committed near the crimes. So that "war of words" becomes a real war.

So now we start with Somalia, Congo, Chad, and Sudan (which as bad as it was, it got worse". The RSF (mentioned earlier they're the "leftists), regrouped and 2,000 are already "dead" in the streets. That's a rough estimate because they're stealing young women, and boys for their own use. Mostly to become soldiers and "camp workers" (slaves to the RSF).

So in their "revolution" the end is being met. Not much a different view than the leftists here. Their goal? To create their own society, where you're free to speak (if you agree with them) under marxist/ Guevaran thought.

So the left here is looking at what they are planning to do. For all those that believe in this, you need to look at the Sudan, and if you want to participate in that. Especially concha and po, et.al. They have gotten the same teaching you are taking in. There isn't a "government," there's "warlords."

I know that some of you are too well secured in your "little houses made of tikkitacki, and they all look the same" (thank you Woody). As much as he wanted and believed in change, he would retch at supporting someone that should murder someone that doesn't believe he is the Massiah. You think "this" is bad? Look at your "heros" that have beliefs that anyone that doesn't support "the movement" should be put into concentration camps." These are the people you want to lead.

“If you tremble with indignation at every injustice then you are a comrade of mine.” – Che Guevara 3. “Let the world change you than you can change the world.” Those are words of a leader that murdered his opponents. If you appreciate that? Be prepared for the reverse and worse to happen. That's how this shit starts.

    Yeah, no we don't.

I don't give a flyingfuck about those utterly irrelevant countries. Your irrelevant obfuscation is getting so old, od. I love how you bristle at the notion that Trump is a fascist while ignoring every qualification for the position that he exhibits.

And the left does all those things you say...? Well, I happen to be pretty shocked and amazed with the right myself...

    • The right invades politicians' homes and smashes their spouse's head in with hammers.

    • The right brings assault rifles to protests and murders protesters.

    • The right knocks on people's doors and shoots them and their dog.

    • The right is constantly going into schools and slaughtering children with assault rifles, and the ones they don't gun down they try to starve to death by taking the food out of their mouths.

    • The right does nothing but lie all the time about anything and everything.

    • The right believes that reality is whatever their leaders and propagandists tell them it is, devoid of any evidence whatsoever.

    • The right are flaming racists who believe in and support white supremacy and are trying to rid the country of non-whites.

    • The right believes that the Constitution is merely a governing suggestion.

    • The right believes and swears that they are Christian, yet there are no actual Christian values that they ever live by and they in fact wipe their ass with most of them.

    • The right is happy to ignore any crime that any of their richest members and politicians commit.

    • The right is happy to shift the wealth of the poor and middle class to billionaires.

    • The right organizes professional hits on their own media personalities just to create a martyr whose death they can pin on the left.

    • The right ignores the whole world's disgust by championing, supporting and condoning genocide against entire innocent populations, which the right is quite happy to fund and supply weapons for.

    • The right are uncontrollable sexual perverts of boundless proportions, raping women, dealing in child pornography and even holding lavish child raping parties on private islands made specifically for the purpose... And then the right defends those child rapists and sex traffickers when they are busted.

    • The right supports the release of violent convicted felons back onto our streets to commit more crimes.

    • The right elected the most unqualified, treasonous, megalomaniacal, evil, deranged, felonious and corrupt president in our history (by many many many factors) and support his every inhuman and insane policy and larcenous crime against our country that he ever commits.

    • And the right is supporting and defending the blatantly fascist takeover of the United States of America.

Yeah, the right is made up of pretty disgusting excuses for human beings. I can't say that the country wouldn't be a lot better off without them.

No kidding. Our entire economy and healthcare system are about to implode, people are struggling to buy food, Millions are being kicked out of their jobs, citizens are being yanked off the streets to black sites, the current administration is looting the treasury for anything that isn't firmly nailed down...

So okay, pedophile's bitch... You tell me how anything happening in Somalia, Congo, or Chad is in anyway relevant to addressing the desperate needs of this country and what Trump is doing to it...

Would you mind terribly if we focused on the ills of this country right now? I mean, before we start wringing our hands over Somalia, Congo, or Chad?

And don't worry. Your Golden God who you support, defend, champion, and idolize is taking care of at least the poor helpless and deprived people of Argentina with tens of billions of dollars of our tax money while Americans are going hungry and our president is actually, quite literally, fighting in court for the right to keep starving them.

So don't give me any of your bullshit, ludicrous, hypocritical nonsense about how you give any kind of fuckabout the status of poor foreigners in foreign countries when you are championing, supporting, defending, and lauding the current genocide being committed by your Golden God and Netanyahu against hundreds of thousands of innocent Palestinians in Gaza.

And thanks for always lying and being a boundlessly mendacious flailing hypocrite. I can always count on that from you.

But it's okay. I know you were just reflexively lashing out at me without even thinking about it at all. So, I get that asking you what you were thinking is kind of moot, because you weren't. Again, it's okay. I am so used to this from you.

Recently, Pregnancy Resource Centers. also known as Crisis Pregnancy Centers, have been under increasing attack. both by pro-abortion activists who have firebombed and vandalized Pregnancy Resource Centers across the nation5 without any condemnation from President Biden, your Department, other pro-abortion supporters, or by pro-abortion politicians or state Attorneys General. President Biden's Executive Order poses yet another threat to Pregnancy Resource Centers by calling on the Secretary of Health and Human Services, the U.S. Attorney General. and the Chair of the FTC to "address deceptive or fraudulent practices related to reproductive healthcare services.'"6 As we have detailed below, this language is frequently used in direct reference to Pregnancy Resource Centers. and it is the concern ofthe ACLJ that the administrative officials will use the language in the Executive Order as a basis to justify potentially unconstitutional targeting of Pregnancy Resource Centers for censorship and for elimination. The ACLJ opposes any such action, and stands ready to rigorously defend Pregnancy Resource Centers across the country.

One such group—Jane’s Revenge—has claimed credit for attacks in Colorado, Massachusetts, Oregon, Texas, Washington, and

So first of all, I don't trust AI as any part of a reasonable answer to anything. I've shown that twice. Not thrice. Thusly I won't use it anymore. It's "intelligence" is an oxymoron and can't be used in the IN community, ergo, I'm not going to use it her. It is what her creators tell her to say. Period. Thusly concha believes every word. And I've already shown it's full of shit. If you want to fall for a liar, go ahead. I don't. And will always question an "AI" report and find the truth.

I have a pretty wide variance on what I'll take. Notice that I did take AI for awhile, then found out how wrong it is depending on who's writing the program. If you were writing the program, it's not trustable at all. If a white supremist were writing the program, it would be equally not trustable.

Same thing applies to youtube. So I don't take either of those as gospel without having been entered by reputable sources. Normally, IF you actually provide a citation (which is rare for you, concha, cornuda, and a couple of others, I'll "usually" accept them and look for another source just to (usually) update what is said, because you don't look at dates of your citation and there are updates. Your wife taught me that. A few times. And I took that (sometimes eventually) I had to relent. Well done for her.

What happened to Jane, a baby?

A victim’s testimony raises questions about what Donald Trump knew about Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse of minors, and when
    Jacqueline Sweet

    Nov 11, 2025

Note: All the details here are from publicly available court testimony and documents. I will not be adding any new biographical details or even including any already released facts that are not necessary for this overview in order to avoid making it easier to identify a victim.

In 1994, Jeffrey Epstein brought a 14-year-old girl to Mar-a-Lago to meet Donald Trump, that girl would later testify under oath in Ghislaine Maxwell’s 2021 trial, as an anonymous victim of Jeffrey Epstein’s sex abuse of minors. Known as “Jane Doe” during the trial to keep her identity private, Jane had made that same allegation in her 2020 lawsuit against Epstein’s estate.

Although the details of this victim’s accusations have been publicly accessible for years, a full picture of what we know about her allegations about her interactions with Trump at age 14 has not yet been put together in light of the additional information about Trump and Epstein’s relationship that surfaced this year.

Epstein displayed Jane to Trump and asked “this is a good one, right?” and now-President Trump nodded and smiled, Jane said. Trump and Epstein then shared a chuckle, her lawsuit alleged.

Jane’s allegations were previously reported in 2020 and 2021, but have received little attention during the ongoing scandal about the Trump administration’s decision to not release more documents from years of investigations into convicted serial sexual abuser Epstein. Recently released letters written to Epstein for his birthday from Trump and referencing Trump along with damning allusions to women as sex objects that have “depreciated” have reignited speculation about what Trump knew about what his friend Epstein was doing with underage girls, and when.

I have been able to identify Jane Doe, and even find a photograph of her at approximately the age she was when she says Epstein brought to her Mar-a-Lago, and while you will have to take my word for it, because Jane wishes to remain anonymous as a victim, I can confidently write that Jane looked so young that year that it would shock most. She did not look 18, or even 17, or 16. She looked like a child.

In fact, prosecutors showed the jury a photograph of Jane that same year during Maxwell’s trial, presumably to underscore how young she appeared months before Epstein and Maxwell preyed upon her outside her summer camp, the summer after she finished seventh grade, when she was 13.

Jane testified that she was a virgin when Epstein and Maxwell approached her at the Michigan summer camp where it would later come out that the duo trolled for victims. After Jane returned to her home in Florida near Epstein that fall, Epstein and Maxwell continued grooming her, she said during the trial, becoming friends with her and her family, paying for her expenses, with Maxwell beginning to broach sexual topics. By the end of 1994, only four months after they met, Epstein began sexually abusing Jane, she said in her lawsuit and again during Maxwell’s trial.

Exactly when Epstein brought the girl to Mar-a-Lago to meet Trump “in a dark green car” is unclear, but Jane has maintained that she was 14 years old, which means it was the second half of 1994 or the first half of 1995, according to her birthday that I was able to find.

“During one of Doe’s encounters with Epstein, he took her to Mar-a-Lago where he introduced her to its owner, Donald J. Trump. Introducing 14-year-old Doe to Donald J. Trump, Epstein elbowed Trump playfully asking him, referring to Doe, ‘This is a good one, right?’ Trump smiled and nodded in agreement. They both chuckled and Doe felt uncomfortable, but, at the time, was too young to understand why,” Jane’s 2020 complaint against Epstein’s estate and Maxwell stated.

During Maxwell’s trial a year later, Maxwell’s attorney grilled Jane during cross-examination about when exactly the Trump meeting took place, but Jane said she couldn’t remember if it was before the first time Epstein abused her. Earlier during the government’s questioning, Jane mentioned that Trump was among the famous names Epstein and Maxwell would namedrop.

“And they would sort of name-drop or sometimes put people on speakerphone whose voices I didn’t know and then say, Oh, well, this was so-and-so and so-and-so; and just, you know, say that they were very well-connected and affluent.”

Jane recalled Trump, Bill Clinton, Mike Wallace and names she didn’t recognize at the time as specific examples. Mar-a-Lago had become a public club by 1995, but Epstein reportedly visited when it was still Trump’s private home. A Florida businessman named George Houraney told The New York Times in 2019 that he was asked to organize a “calendar girl” competition at Mar-a-Lago in 1992, and that the only other guest was Epstein.

The White House did not reply to questions about Jane Doe’s allegations. Trump has not been accused of any crimes related to Epstein’s abuse of minors.

Jane herself competed in Trump’s teen beauty pageant in the mid-1990s, she testified at Maxwell’s trial.

I have a pretty wide variance on what I'll take.

Okay - so if you have a "wide variance" it should be easy to find a couple sources that report ACTUAL bombings instead of "threats" or molotov cocktails thrown "toward buildings".

Otherwise? You lose. The abortion clinic bombings are easy to prove. There are no attacks on right to life offices. There are no injuries - much less deaths - at right to life offices. There are stalkings of right to life people AND THEIR FAMILIES. There are right to life people being shot IN CHURCH IN FRONT OF THEIR FAMILIES.

So let's have it, OBL - or stfu.

Sorry I took so long, childcare issues.

po- too many to give you a count. I do generally accept a local rag about a local story. Oddly, the Indian Times is a strangely reliable source, center to left. German media is generally too far to either side.

Mother Jones and Rolling stone I question because of the slant. BBC is skittish (although they used to be reliable). If they're used, I figure that I can use Breitbart, OAN, and Blaze for sure.

If MSNBC, NYT, Guardian, I'll usually take, and if I do, I feel that opens me up to using FoxNEWS, NY Post, Daily Caller, Epoch Times*.

So it depends on how far left the other posters use.

YouTube (not part of any of the reputable news source) absolutely not.
Uncited posts claiming the "truth" no. I'll challenge that.
Outdated posts with other sources that have updated information. No.
I generally read the top of the threads (OUCH! because I didn't do that with one of your threads recently. Again, my bad) and then skim down. I try not to get involved in the petty BS unless I'm mentioned, or I'm supporting one side or the other.
The same as I'm not expected someone to take mine that are the same.

*Epoch Times is generally a day or two ahead of everyone else in news. That really frustrates folks. They are conservative but not like even the Daily Caller.

  41. by Indy! on November 12, 2025 1:17 pm

Translation: "I can't find a single source - on the right, the middle OR the left - that verifies my lies about right to life offices being bombed."

Pro tip, Odorous - The size of the post has nothing to do with verifying what you said. You could post the entire text of War and Peace and it wouldn't verify your OUTRIGHT LIE about right to life offices being bombed.

"Epoch Times is generally a day or two ahead of everyone else in news. That really frustrates folks. They are conservative but not like even the Daily Caller." Epoch Times was founded by the Moonies as part of ts Money Laundering scheme. It is not too bad when it simply reports news, but everything else is Far Right or open to question.

Just the way OD phrases the comparison tells us he doesn't know how to find quality journalism...

"Epoch Times... They are conservative but not like even the Daily Caller."

News does not have a political agenda. The truth does not have a political agenda. Journalism is supposed to be impartial - objective and free of opinion. Otherwise it is not news - it is editorial or opinion. Outlets like Fox, News Nation, NewsMax, Epoch Times - do not report news. The report opinion.

  44. by oldedude on November 12, 2025 2:15 pm
That's bullshit. Everyone has an interpretation of fact. Thusly, as much as cornudo whines about me using original sources, that's why I do it.

Question. MSNBC does a story. Breitbart has exactly the same source sheet. Are they going to be different? This is a yes or no question.

  45. by Curt_Anderson on November 12, 2025 2:32 pm
Besides the slant on a story that a news source has, perhaps more important and frequent are the stories that they choose to cover. A news outlet can have all their facts straight, but still be biased.

For example, one newspaper might continually report with banner headlines on foreign-born criminals. Another paper might continually report on immigrant entrepreneurs. All the reporting could be completely factual, but the two papers' readers would be left with distinctly different impressions of immigration.

I'd agree with that also. And something like what donna said about the congressperson and his view of the "vote" they finally passed was extremely different between the two sides. Both sides were covering the voting, with extremely different views.

I agree with the selection of news offered to their listeners also.

  47. by Indy! on November 12, 2025 6:19 pm

MSNBC and Breitbart are also NOT the news, Old Dud. 😂

  48. by oldedude on November 12, 2025 7:29 pm
So what do YOU consider "news." Your TikTok? or the "cartoon network?

  49. by Indy! on November 12, 2025 9:25 pm

You're the only one who ever mentions TikTok or the cartoon network on this board.

    Also... NOT the news.

  50. by oldedude on November 13, 2025 8:42 am
So honestly, which "news" source do you consider "news."

  51. by Ponderer on November 13, 2025 9:07 am

"So honestly, which "news" source do you consider "news."" -olde dude

I asked you that very question days ago and you did nothing but obfuscate.

So olde dude, which news sources do you consider "news."

  52. by Indy! on November 13, 2025 10:29 am

Give me some actual, real, verifiable examples of your right to life bombingS and then we'll talk about news sources. Forget about news - go to government sites as you CLAIMED you do to find FACTS and find us some examples of right to life orgs being bombed, people being killed, etc...

I already did. The Molotov attack in Salem, OR.
And the bombing in Palm Springs, CA.
Moving on....Here are a total of SIX (6), I didn't double-count the attacks. There was also a fire-bombing in DC. I couldn't find an article on it, so I didn't count it either.

Radical abortion activists who firebombed the office of a pro-life groups in Wisconsin and Oregon, firebombed a pregnancy center in Buffalo, New York, and who have vandalized over a dozen churches and pregnancy centers have struck again. Now, not even a week after abortion supporters firebombed the Buffalo pregnancy center, another pregnancy center in Gresham, Oregon has been set ablaze.[1]

The FBI is offering a $25,000 reward for tips about three arsons in Oregon last summer against an anti-abortion group and centers.

The attacks occurred between May and July in Portland, Gresham and Keizer. One attack targeted the Mother and Child Education Center in Portland. Another involved Molotov cocktails thrown at the Oregon Right to Life building in Keizer. And the third was against the Gresham Pregnancy Resource Center, a Christian resource hub that’s anti-abortion.[2]

I already said I'd give you the 3 - even though those are ARSON cases - not "bombings" as you claimed and they apparently weren't very serious since there are no injuries listed and certainly no dead people. In the end, its just minor aggressions compared to what the anit-choice people have been doing for decades.

And your "Life News" website doesn't count since it is a right to life group - not a news source. Your team is known for exaggerating and outright lying about alleged "attacks" because MAGAts are snowflake pussies.

  55. by oldedude on November 13, 2025 5:50 pm
Fire bombs stupid fuck. You need to talk to your butties in antifada.

  56. by oldedude on November 13, 2025 5:52 pm
And one of them in CA WAS an explosive. Another epic failure at reading the obvious. God are you stupid.

  57. by Indy! on November 13, 2025 6:50 pm

    Did someone say antifada? 😃

    Antifada, Antifada, Antifada... la-la-la
    Antifada, Antifada, Antifada... ha-ha-ha

    Antifada, Antifada, Antifada... la-la-la
Antifada, Antifada, Antifada... (clap,) (clap), (clap)
