According to official results, all 31 M4L-endorsed candidates who appeared on ballots in competitive races were defeated, marking the first total shutout for the organization since its rise to prominence in 2021.

Political analysts say the 2025 elections confirmed what polling data had hinted at for months: voters across party lines are increasingly rejecting the divisive tactics that defined Moms for Liberty’s national strategy. Once supported by GOP donors and conservative PACs, the group’s candidates were swamped by moderate and progressive opponents who ran on messages of inclusion, academic freedom, and depoliticizing classrooms.
This election shows that parents are tired of outrage politics in schools. What voters want are solutions are better teachers, better funding, and better outcomes. They don’t want right-wing culture wars at PTA meetings.
The losses were particularly striking in suburban and rural counties, areas once considered M4L strongholds. In Pennsylvania, Florida, and Texas, M4L candidates lost ground to centrist incumbents who rightly portrayed the group’s agenda as extremist and harmful to students. In several contests, nonpartisan slates of parents and teachers joined forces to oppose M4L-backed contenders, effectively neutralizing the group’s organizational edge.
Even in conservative districts, M4L-endorsed candidates underperformed. In Williamson County, Tennessee, an early hub of the movement, an M4L candidate for school board lost by 18 points. In Florida, where the organization was founded, all five of its endorsed candidates were defeated, including one in Sarasota County, which once served as an M4L testing ground."
