Pretty much at the last minute, I decided not to go with the ANTIFA theme. I was going over a lot of the main web site for No Kings last night, and I saw that they were calling for folks to ix-nay on the antifa-ay. And the way they laid it out made pretty good sense. Don't give them anything to use against us and solidarity and all. Fair enough.
So, since they were asking that we refrain from pushing antifa at all, I decided to go with my trusty stand-by MAKE AMERICA AMERICA AGAIN! sign, now with nine American flags sticking out the sides and top! It was a real crowd pleaser. Lots of folks wanting a shot of it. And I also wore my FIGHT OLIGARCHY shirt from Bernie and Alexandria's visit a while back.
I've been posting the shot of me in the ANTIFA get up with the BEING AN AMERICAN MEANS BEING ANTIFA sign I made in a few sites I frequent, so I got some use out of that project. And I only saw two or three signs this morning that had anything antifa on them. I'm happy with my decision.
I was a street event. People lined up a mile each way from the intersection we were standing/sitting at. Had to be at least a couple thousand people. No counter protests at all. There were three other events here in Tucson that we could have attended, but this one was great. We have friends who attended one of the others.
And I gotta tell you... I'm a little disappointed that I didn't see a single solitary "America hater" in the whole bunch. And after that huge buildup from the MAGA Regime Elite scaring everyone about it, too!
My favorite protestor was this woman who had a double sided cut out sign of Trump's face on one side and Epstein's face on the other. She would spin that around while wearing a white sleeveless dress with Trump's birthday message to Epstein printed on the front in a perfectly anatomically scaled work of art.
I lasted an hour and a half before having to call it a day. Oh, and I was in quite a bit of pain the whole time. But so glad to have been a part of it.
Long Live America!
