This might help to explain how the conservatives are the group of acceptance, and the left is nothing but hateful.
If Democrats want to ever win votes back, they need to stop romanticizing victimhood and violence and start engaging in a civil and productive manner
Ellis is a Political Science major who always thought himself a liberal. In his senior year he was a member of the liberal group and decided to look into the conservative group on campus. That group was a Turning Point affiliated group.
So he went to the Turning Point group just to listen to other perspectives of his major. In the citation, he talks about the acceptance he found with the conservatives. It didn't change him to a conservative, but he actually had a chance to actually discuss his views and listen to the views of others. They welcomed him and said things like, "wow, cool, a different perspective to talk about!"
When he went to the liberal group, he was berated and shunned for even attending the TP group. He was accused of being a "spy" for TP, and threatened expulsion from the liberal group for going.
He is still a dem, and enjoys the differences and dialog going to the TP group on campus.
This is very much like SS. The "I hate people that are anti-ethical to my beliefs" bullshit is common, and the libs don't consider they are spewing their anti-ethical issues and conservatives must comply to their wishes.
I, for one, have witnessed what terrorists do. I've smelled the rotting bodies in the aftermath of a terrorist attacks. I've seen the headless bodies after some poor father was accused of helping US forces, or the interpreter who's entire family were murdered in front of him. So my views are built on what I've seen and smelled. Supporting terrorists and expecting ME to suck it up shows me these people have no ethics, or character.
I've chosen to be relatively quiet when my stomach churns with the terrorists here. So now I'm not. I can see the visceral hatred of everyone that won't conform to their standards. I'm sorry if your fantasy of victimhood is so alive you actually think it's normal.
