And, po, and all you woke progressive SS Swampcultists, splain why you're for this.

From AI:

While it is unusual, some Americans with very high incomes were able to qualify for subsidies under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) due to temporary expansions of the program that allowed some households with nearly $600,000 in annual income to receive benefits.

Chuckyou's... and po's brainless... demand that the Swamp merely rubber stamp the ACA is moronic and it's further reason that everyone should HatetheSwamp.

Rubber stamping OCare would be idiocy. But, Chuckyou knows that Dems will raise a lot of money demanding it.

It's YOUR party's plan. I know Fox wants you to believe Obama came up with it, but if you check history the only thing Obama said was "send me a plan and I'll sign it". The only asterisk was CONgress was not allowed to even discuss universal healthcare - the only REAL solution to this country's disastrous health"care" system. So the Ds - being the worthless jv Republicans they are - passed the Bob Dole / Mitt Romney market-based health"care" plan.

  2. by Donna on October 10, 2025 8:32 am

From AI (what Hts didn't mention):

Yes, wealthy individuals can qualify for ACA subsidies, but eligibility is based on income, not wealth, according to Burney Tax Advisors. People with high net worth who have low taxable income can receive subsidies, and those earning more than the traditional 400% of the federal poverty level (FPL) may still qualify for subsidies if the cost of a benchmark plan would be more than 8.5% of their income. The exact amount of a subsidy depends on a person's modified adjusted gross income (MAGI), household size, and local insurance costs.

  3. by HatetheSwamp on October 10, 2025 8:34 am

So, Donna, you want to rubber stamp OCare without addressing it's laws!!!!!?

    Curious.

  4. by Curt_Anderson on October 10, 2025 8:38 am
How could the "unusual" HtS mention happen?

    Also from AI:
It is not the income alone but the ratio of their premium cost to income that determined eligibility. If a family with a very high income lived in an area with extremely expensive insurance premiums, and their benchmark plan cost more than 8.5% of their income, they could receive a subsidy.

  5. by Indy! on October 10, 2025 8:44 am

I've been subsidized for years. It's actually the best part about the ACA because it's the only part that has any resemblance at all to universal care. And the funny part is even though all these people are being subsidized (some undeservedly) - you can bet the house not a single MAGAt on the planet could point to their income taxes increasing because we have to cover all these subsidies.

I told you guys the hilarious and totally unbelievable way I ended up getting subsidized this year, right? Just more proof that we should just take the dive and go directly to universal care. And if we add in the AI aspect? Think about this... insurance is one of those business models that could survive almost ENTIRELY on robots. What do humans do in the insurance world? Answer the phones and look up numbers on a computer? It would simple to replace ALL insurance related workers with AI. Then what happens? We'd basically be spending a butt ton of cash every year to pay a couple zillionaires to keep their robots plugged in so they could tell us how many hoops we need to jump thru to get a bandaid put on our boo-boos.

And people wonder why this country is going to hell in a hand basket? 😂

    "While it is unusual, [...]"

Let's say, hypothetically, that pedophile's very favorite store is the Orifice Depot, specializing in sex toys and erotic paraphernalia. And it's the only sex toy shop for hundreds of miles around him and he really gets along with the manager, Carl, very well. pedophile's bitch always loves going in there, sometimes just to browse. On his most recent weekly visit to bolster his butt plug collection, Carl happens to tell him that he has a "filthy, ugly" problem with shoplifting.

pedophile's bitch wants us to believe that if he continued to frequent that dildo store for the vital essentials that he needs, even though it's the only store where he can get his vital essentials, it means that he approves of shoplifting.

So yeah, I am in no way whatsoever "for" a tiny handful of people getting a subsidy from the ACA that they don't actually deserve just because I acknowledge that ObamaCare was the only way I could afford even half-decent health care. There is no such thing as a system that can't be abused. It's just that the abuse is never even mentioned by the right if it is going towards their people. They only bitch and moan and scream and cry and wail and blow up over the relatively tiny amounts of abuse in "liberal" policies.

So now, pedophlie's bitch gets to tell us why he has never erupted in anything like this level of apoplexy over the wildly profitable fossil fuel industry, whose products he happily consumes every single day, receiving $12 billion to $15 billion per year in government subsidies.

pedophile's bitch, why are you for giving all these subsidies from our tax dollars to the fossil fuel industry when they don't even need them?

"There is no such thing as a system that can't be abused."

And, says po, lawmakers absolutely should not correct a weakness in the law.

    Sad. Idiotic.

    po, y'ain't that friggin stoopid!

  9. by Ponderer on October 10, 2025 9:38 am

Again, I never implied any such thing. Any abuses or inadvertently undeserved applications of the plan are not right and should have been corrected.

"But they WEREN'T! That's my point! BWAAHHH HAAA HAAA HAAAAAAAA!", pedophile's bitch would say.

And that in no way affects my opinion that they are not right and should have been corrected.

(Forgive me for saving us all a little time by skipping ahead over pedophile's bitch's inevitable programmed response.)

Thank you for admitting you're a welfare bitch. I'm NOT being subsidized. And it wasn't "taxes" that raised. It was the individual premiums. So you're scamming the system and proud of it.

  11. by HatetheSwamp on October 10, 2025 9:41 am

"Again, I never implied any such thing. Any abuses or inadvertently undeserved applications of the plan are not right and should have been corrected."

If that's so, then you are on the GOP side on the shutdown.

  12. by Ponderer on October 10, 2025 10:01 am

"And it wasn't 'taxes' that raised. It was the individual premiums. So you're scamming the system and proud of it." -olde dude

Exactly, although you are confusing pride for relief. Yes, individual premiums were in fact raised. To levels that tens of millions of Americans could simply not afford any longer without the ObamaCare subsidies.

So we all should just accept that we have to suffer from any accidents or diseases we fall prey to and stay sick or die because we can't afford the care we need. Because that's the Big Beautiful American Way. I see.

The way youfucking MAGA Hats who don't give a flyingfuck about billions in subsidies from our tax dollars going to wildly profitable corporations and industries and billionaire friends of Donald Trump... not a fuckingpeep from you about it... Yet you scream and gesticulate with your hair on fire about actual American citizens personally benefitting in any way from our tax dollars makes me literally sick to my stomach.

You are disgusting excuses for human beings, let alone Americans.

And don't even get me started on what a shitty excuse for a "Christian" pedophile's bitch is.

  13. by Ponderer on October 10, 2025 10:04 am

"If that's so, then you are on the GOP side on the shutdown." -pedophile's bitch

I absolutely am not. You only came to that conclusion because you are devoid of anything even vaguely resembling basic logic. Plus, you are tremendously stupid, so...

  14. by Donna on October 10, 2025 10:10 am

Without the ACA subsidy, which was over %6,000 a year in 2023 justf or my wife's policy, we would have been forced to go without healthcare coverage.

  15. by HatetheSwamp on October 10, 2025 10:18 am

"You only came to that conclusion because you are devoid of anything even vaguely resembling basic logic. Plus, you are tremendously stupid, so..."

    Noop.

Yup. I'm stoopid. But, clearly, you ain't.

Dems say the GOPs have to rubber stamp OCare before we address the shutdown. You just claimed not to want merely to rubber stamp OCare. You agree with the GOP.

  16. by HatetheSwamp on October 10, 2025 10:28 am

"Without the ACA subsidy, which was over %6,000 a year in 2023 justf or my wife's policy, we would have been forced to go without healthcare coverage."

    Donna,

    I don't doubt you. And,...

I don't know what you are learning from Ben at MTN and po's The Rachel but, based on my constant monitoring of right-wing media, few GOPs want to end subsidies.

AND, CERTAINLY, ENUFF GOPS WILL CROSS THE AISLE AND VOTE FOR A TWEAKED UPDATE ON OCARE IF DEMS ARE REASONABLE. Trust ole pb. He studies this daily.

However, Dems are going to have to agree to the CR to get their way, or very close to it, on OCare. Based on what I'm seeing as I monitor right-wing media, GOPs will fight to the death over the shutdown.

  17. by Ponderer on October 10, 2025 10:33 am

Ah. I see the mistake you are making here.

You're lamely asserting that if I want ObamaCare to exist and continue helping the tens of millions of Americans who have been helped by it for like 15 years, I have to agree with and go along with the MAGA Republican party that is in the process of destroying it. Otherwise I "am for" people getting it who don't need it.

See? this is the kind of pathetically stupid excuse for logic that you continue to employ, thinking that it makes "logical" sense when it simply doesn't.

  18. by Ponderer on October 10, 2025 10:36 am

"but, based on my constant monitoring of right-wing media, few GOPs want to end subsidies." -pedophile's bitch

Then why did they vote for cutting those subsidies like Trump always promised he would? You've always suggested that whatever Trump does, the people who voted for him wanted it, whatever he does or takes away from them.

  21. by Indy! on October 10, 2025 11:37 am

    This thread is funny.

First off, neither Odorous or Brown Shorts understand the ACA was THEIR party's answer to the healthcare problem. This was the GOP's answer to the failing healthcare system we had before. The reason the Ds passed the GOP plan is basically 3-fold...
    1) Obama would not let CONgress discuss a real solution like universal healthcare
    2) Ds - being the worthless wimps they are - had to please their insurance company masters by keeping them in the system instead of rightfully kicking them out for being the cash-sucking vipers they are.
    3) The plan had to cover more people to be considered a success which the individual mandate provided.

Secondly, neither of them understand without the ACA - healthcare premiums would be EVEN HIGHER. One of the things the ACA succeeded at (on not nearly the scale needed) - was reducing the RATE of premium increases. But - as Indy said back when they were voting on it - all we did was kick the can further down the road. The only answer to the problem is UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE like every CIVILIZED country already has.

Third, Señorita Welfare doesn't understand that the VA actually IS universal healthcare which means if I'm on welfare with the subsidies healthcare - she's taking even MORE welfare on top of her military retirement everytime she sees the VA gynecologist.

  22. by HatetheSwamp on October 10, 2025 12:03 pm

"neither Odorous or Brown Shorts understand the ACA was THEIR party's answer to the healthcare problem."

How many GOPs voted for OCare!!!!!

  23. by Indy! on October 10, 2025 12:20 pm

You did - twice. So did Odorous. 😂

  24. by oldedude on October 10, 2025 2:57 pm
I NEVER have. At all. Again, please cite you POS. It's only been you, uncited, that's been passing on this bullshit.

    So cite or STFU.

  25. by oldedude on October 10, 2025 3:17 pm
po- Exactly, although you are confusing pride for relief. Yes, individual premiums were in fact raised. To levels that tens of millions of Americans could simply not afford any longer without the ObamaCare subsidies.
The pride for relief was written specifically for the one scamming the system. I know you and donna are not in the same position. Sorry about the confusion.

I've said this many times. When ocare came in, my wife's insurance increased by thousands of percents. She went from a really great setup working for the state of CO, which was much like what the federal government had. This was about $275 pre ocare with perks like no copays, no deductibles, to $475 (just for her), copays and $7000 deductible. Given that folks that work for the bureaucracy earn about half of the same position in the free market (except for the bureaucrats), many of the folks couldn't afford staying in the state. Asking around, the same was all around as the insurance companies didn't know what was going on.

Fast forward till now. Like food stamps, etc. I am in favour of these programs for those who need them. And, like was said above, there are abuses in any government system. I've found that private companies are much more careful about abuse.

Long story short. I think you and I agree on this one.😱

  26. by Indy! on October 10, 2025 4:49 pm

    Odie...

So you voted for Bill Clinton in 1996?

    And Obama in 2012?

Good to know - making a note of that right now. 😌

  27. by Indy! on October 11, 2025 11:02 am

    Bumpity bump... BOOM!

Knew Odorous would run from that one.

  28. by HatetheSwamp on October 11, 2025 11:15 am

    Indy,

Just curious. What was your opinion of HillaryCare?

  29. by Ponderer on October 11, 2025 11:41 am

Typical MAGA Hat. Asking asinine questions about things that never happened yet wanting your opinion of them.

I, for myself, was never able to avail myself of it. So how could I have an opinion about it?

  30. by HatetheSwamp on October 11, 2025 12:17 pm

    po,

HillaryCare handed the House back to the GOPs for the first time in decades. And, it wasn't the radical universal Healthcare that Indy favors.

  31. by Indy! on October 11, 2025 2:13 pm

That was 30+ years ago, Brown Shorts. The world and our crappy health "care" have changed quite a bit. But if you really need my opinion - I never read up on Hillarycare and have no idea what it entailed since it never came anywhere near passing.

  32. by meagain on October 11, 2025 2:26 pm
I read, Hate, that Hillarycare would have increased investment in information technology, emphasised and invested in preventative care, and expanded access to affordable care.

    What's not to like?

  33. by Indy! on October 11, 2025 2:32 pm

It would have come from the Ds, meagain. That's the only argument the Fox crowd ever has.

  34. by Ponderer on October 11, 2025 4:23 pm

What's Trump's healthcare plan again...? 10% OFF coupons or something...?

  35. by Indy! on October 11, 2025 6:33 pm

    10% off coupons for McDonald's. 😂

  36. by HatetheSwamp on October 12, 2025 5:09 am

"That was 30+ years ago, Brown Shorts. The world and our crappy health "care" have changed quite a bit. But if you really need my opinion - I never read up on Hillarycare and have no idea what it entailed since it never came anywhere near passing."

    Indy,

I think that you are wrong about the history of the legislation but, again, I'm curious. How much have your politics changed since then?

Back then, pb'd only ever voted for Dems... even Mondale and Dukakis. Now pb's a very libertarian-ish GOP. Big diff.

  37. by Indy! on October 12, 2025 9:28 am

I've been a progressive my entire life. I don't pretend I'm something I'm not like you do.

  38. by Ponderer on October 12, 2025 10:20 am

pedophile's bitch likes to pretend that he didn't vote for Donald Trump three times.

  39. by HatetheSwamp on October 12, 2025 10:37 am

"pedophile's bitch likes to pretend that he didn't vote for Donald Trump three times."

    Bahaha!

In fact, pb said that his 024 vote for JD was the first vote he felt peaceful about since he voted for Carter in 76.

Like many millions in 024, I ain't MAGA but y'nes left me no reasonable option.

  40. by Indy! on October 12, 2025 11:20 am

You could have not voted for president. Ooops... busted again.

  41. by oldedude on October 12, 2025 7:49 pm
"Again, I never implied any such thing. Any abuses or inadvertently undeserved applications of the plan are not right and should have been corrected."

If that's so, then you are on the GOP side on the shutdown.

And yet you allowed yourself to suck the tit of the government. You're nothing but a welfare bitch. See donna's and po's posts about people that actually don't steal from the government.

They are the folks I support with my tax dollars. You are nothing but a little bitch that latches on to them, and makes it harder for them to get the support they deserve.

You're a fucking leach that sucks the blood off of folks that actually need the support.

    Not to the little pussy.
Folks, THIS is what I'm talking about with eradication of leaches sucking (the blood) off of federal systems and make it tough for folks that need the support to get it. donna and po, I'm sorry to pull you into this, but it pisses me off that this leach of the system is allowed to exist. I consider this theft. I'm sure it doesn't, but this is why folks like me want the system checked. Now we have a "name."

  42. by Indy! on October 12, 2025 8:19 pm

Says the board welfare queen who never held a real job and yet gets free welfare checks and healthcare. I actually paid taxes - how do you think those programs exist? Real people working REAL jobs pay for them. I'm no scrubbing toilets with a tooth brush or policing up cigarette butts for a LIFETIME of welfare checks and FREE healthcare like you. I actually had a job - and created jobs for others that all CONTRIBUTED to our government coffers. That's the difference you sheltered welfare recipients do not understand - WE PAY IN while you TAKE MONEY OUT. Got it now, slacker? I highly doubt it - you would have had to have actually worked a REAL job at one time or another to understand.

  43. by Ponderer on October 12, 2025 10:32 pm

olde dude, what is it that makes you think that Indy! didn't deserve to avail himself of ObamaCare?
