Rules of the Post & Tips.
These are reason besides the moral and ethical considerations.
Reason #1: Preventing the spread of disease Undocumented immigrants who lack access to preventive and primary care may delay seeking treatment for contagious illnesses such as tuberculosis or measles, increasing the risk of transmission to the broader community.
Reason #2: Reducing emergency room overuse When undocumented immigrants have access to primary care, they are less reliant on expensive emergency departments for basic medical needs. The federal Emergency Medical Treatment & Labor Act (EMTALA) requires hospitals to treat all patients with emergency conditions, regardless of their ability to pay or immigration status.
Reason #3: Improved productivity A healthier population of workers is more productive. Immigrants fill essential jobs in sectors like agriculture and construction, and their improved health contributes positively to the workforce.
Reason #4: Return on investment Providing preventive services, like prenatal care, has been shown to save money in the long run by reducing complications and the need for expensive neonatal care.
