It seems like the portland mob, doesn't have anything better to do. Obviously they don't have real jobs, you know, the jobs you have to show up to to make a buck? There's been a lot of fireworks (meaning tear gas and throwing fireworks at law enforcement).

Even though the "mayor" doubled down on the immigration issue, the riots have closed the federal offices where immigrants get things done to gain citizenship, or appear for court, you know what people that need help would want. The truth is that portland is stagnant.

The other thing that's happening is Portland is know to be in an Urban Doom Loop. Economic experts discuss whether Portland’s decline is temporary or part of a worsening trend. And it seems that if small businesses get burned up every year, that may not be good for the economy. True libtards will tell you "they have insurance" not realizing that having a place downtown isn't feasible for the owners. Although businesses include a reasonable amount for insurance, the insurance companies have about a say... 30% chance of having to replace the business.

And as we've seen, even the larger companies are moving out of unstable areas. Sprouts moved it's flagship store because it was losing so much money in frisco. Even the Portland Metro Chamber's reports reveal job losses and population decline in Portland while downtown's foot traffic grew. Urgent investment and collaboration are crucial to achieving economic recovery and success. The bad news is they need to stop the "Peaceful 'demonstrations'" in order to survive.

If the mayor doesn't do a 180, I'd just let it burn. Let portland go underwater and commit suicide. Obviously, the folks there don't care about their city going down the toilet. And while they "supposedly" fight for the "little man" that's exactly who they are hurting.

The entire country is in decline - has been since Reagan was first elected and we switched to supply side "economics" and the service economy. You guys are the ones at fault - not some kids who realize their future is bleak thanks to the GOP, the Tea Party, you MAGAts and Trump.

Watch for the unemployment report which comes out tomorrow. Trump fired the head of statistics because of last month's dismal jobs report. Let's see how the new stats guy does tomorrow.

Trump's tariffs are hurting more mom and pop stores than any protests ever have. John Deere is not a mom and pop business, but they sell to family farms and are represented by small business dealers.

Trump has claimed to support domestic manufacturing, but his tariff policies have already hit farmers—and by extension homegrown manufacturer John Deere. An economic battle with China has hit farmers’ pockets as soybean exports to a large buyer fell. Meanwhile, tariff instability has forced farmers to exercise caution and cut back on new equipment purchases, which has affected John Deere’s bottom line.

You don't have a Deere factory in the state. And honestly, few, of any of the things are on the list of major agriculture Oregon products, and certainly . In addition, the reason the businesses are talking about portland is because of damages done almost every year to all businesses because people just don't care about the city (to the libs, remember "everything is 'free'"). So you just skirted and deflected the exact point of my thread. And is completely preventable if people can correct their cranial/rectal inversion. Although portland has "farmer's markets," Those don't compare with large agriculture. Some things like blueberries (and don't forget about the vineyards), are great products. Again, NOT coming from "portland" per se.

It's too stupid and dangerous (meaning it's not cost effective) to have a business there. So it's not economically feasible when there are other cities that can do the same thing and not have the issues of portland/seattle. Even as close as Vancouver. And of course, there are several states that are much easier to run a business from.

The "demonstrations" are also closing places like I said. The only small businesses that are making money this time around are restaurants because of the foot traffic.

About time some of the corporate MAGAts paid a price for their votes. Because you KNOW every John Deere employee from the CEO on down voted for JD Vance Trump.

    Cite?

olde dude is right about businesses leaving Portland. Check the list out at the link below. Most of the stores cite crime as the main reason they're leaving Portland.

Btw, I'll soon be losing a store I merchandise in South Tucson, which is a separate city from Tucson but is sort of surrounded by Tucson. I just started servicing that store less than 4 months ago. On my first service, one of the employees warned me about bad crime around that neighborhood. In fact I read that after it closes, the South Tucson police department is going to set up some kind of new base of operations there. South Tucson seems to be the most dangerous area in the Tucson metro area, and I suspect that the grocery store is closing because of the high amount of crime there.

Conservatives love to highlight any crimes in Portland. Especially when connected to protests. Law breaking during or near a protest is still law breaking. A quick reality check...

Portland sees steepest drop in homicides among major U.S. cities
PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — Most major crimes are trending downward in Portland and nationally, with the Rose City's homicide rate seeing one of the largest dips nationwide.

The Major Cities Chiefs Association Midyear Violent Crime Report shows Portland saw 17 homicide crimes (includes attempted homicide and involuntary) during the first half of 2025 as compared to 35 during the first half of last year.

While preliminary, because it only measures the first half of the year, the data shows promises that Portland is on track to returning to pre-pandemic homicide levels. The total number of homicide crimes in 2019 was 36.

The city has also seen a decline in reported rapes, aggravated assaults (generally with a weapon or causing severe injury) and robberies. However, Portland Police Bureau data shows not all violent crimes in Portland are down, when comparing the first half of 2024 to the first half of 2025. Overall reported assaults increased almost 4% and reported kidnappings spiked over 80%.

    Cite?

    Cite what, Odorous?

How Trump promised to save John Deere last year and instead he's putting them out of business with his tariffs?

    See Citation link #1 below

    -------------------------------------------

Or how farming dependent counties overwhelmingly supported the Homeless Hairdo by an average of 77.7% which means most (if not all) John Deere employees most likely supported him too?

I'm glad that you white cracker MF's are safe in your lily-white picket fenced houses made of tickytac and they all look the same. The fact remains that you and cornudo keep claiming doesn't exist. You keep ducking the issue, and cornudo just keeps citing statistics that are wrong, especially by libtard cities that don't want to say that minorities are the wanton way to cut down on the little brown people bitching about things the libtards don't want them to know. Like them dying at a horrible rate. Admittedly, by other minorities. So this is nothing more than the "election year hand job" the dims always give them.

Honestly, because of that, and trumpster willing to actually do something about it makes a difference with the next election. Trumpster won't be on it, but some other predominate person in the administration will be. If they do what they should and allow the Mayors take credit for their officers doing such good work, this all comes out.

What has the Homeless Hairdo done about it? From what I've heard he didn't even send the Janitorial military services into the "bad" neighborhoods. And btw, Señorita - don't think we've forgotten that you're the guy who always complained about "black on black" crime before Fox obviously gave you new (hilarious) talking points on this issue.

There is one area here where I sort of agree with od: the solidly red state of Florida is plagued with crime and is not as safe as most other states. So when he talks about crime in other places, it’s what he’s apparently seeing all around him. On the other hand, of the safest states in the country, four of the top five are the blue liberal states of Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, and Massachusetts (all in New England). And simply going by the lowest ‘crime rate’ here is the AI overview:

"The states with consistently low crime rates, according to recent rankings, include New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, Massachusetts, and Idaho. Other states that often appear in the top rankings for safety and low crime include Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Utah.”

All six of the New England states consistently rank at the top of the charts for the lowest crime rates in the country. Pretty telling, isn’t it! These blue, liberal, progressive states have a better quality of life and fewer crimes than the red states. But the right continues to attempt to persuade people that it’s the liberals and progressives who are responsible for the high crime rates that they see taking place around them, but these are states that are run by the right-wing conservatives themselves...and they have fooled a lot of their constituents in those red states into believing them that it's the liberals’ fault.
