So if an immigrant farmworker or dishwasher wants to better themselves by obtaining an education or learning a new trade, they risk deportation if they get "too good of a job". ---Curt

Trump curbs immigration enforcement at farms, meatpacking plants, hotels and restaurants
The Trump administration has directed immigration officers to pause arrests at farms, restaurants and hotels after President Donald Trump expressed alarm about the impact of aggressive enforcement

“Our great Farmers and people in the Hotel and Leisure business have been stating that our very aggressive policy on immigration is taking very good, long time workers away from them, with those jobs being almost impossible to replace,” Trump wrote. “In many cases the Criminals allowed into our Country by the VERY Stupid Biden Open Borders Policy are applying for those jobs. This is not good. We must protect our Farmers, but get the CRIMINALS OUT OF THE USA. Changes are coming!”

Yes, Rep. Balint speaks the truth!

Immigrants make up 28% of the overall direct care workforce for LTC services. As of 2023, there were over 820,000 immigrants working as direct care workers providing long-term care in the U.S. (including over 500,000 naturalized citizens and over 300,000 noncitizen immigrants).

Immigrants play a particularly large role in the home care workforce, making up one in three workers (32%) in home care settings. They also make up 21% of workers in nursing facilities and 24% of workers in residential care settings.

Immigrants have made up an increasing share of the direct care LTC workforce over time. The share of direct care workers providing LTC services who are immigrants increased from 24% in 2018 to 28% in 2023.

    1. Do anything. Anything at all. Make it sound tough.

    2. Uh oh! #1 created a severe fuck-up. That's okay, change it and act like that was always plan.

    3. Good stuff? MAGA! Bad stuff? Stupid Biden!

    HtS,
    None.

  6. by HatetheSwamp on June 15, 2025 12:19 pm

Why would Trump pausing arrests be an issue?

  7. by Ponderer on June 15, 2025 1:50 pm

Listen to this flaming, demented ignoramus. He's actually complaining about the hurt his immigration policies are doing to farmers as if he had nothing to do with actually creating the problem himself. Like he's wanting to correct something that the Democrats did.

"We can't take farmers and take all their people and send them back because they don't have... maybe what they're supposed to have, I think we can't do that to our farmers."

But you did do it to our farmers, Donny. You did it to our farmers. All by your pig-ignorant lonesome.

"We're going to have to use a lot of common sense with that." he says.

Wow! What a novel way for him to approach ANYTHING HE'S EVER DONE EVER!

This psychopathic imbecile is not playing 4D chess. He can't even maintain the rules for tic-tac-toe in his bone-filled skull.

Ole pb is HatetheSwamp first and foremost because DC's corrupt and dysfunctional politicians ON BOTH SIDES have made immigrants a ping pong ball. They use the issue to raise money, nuthin more. And, everyone here, save Indy and OD perhaps, fall for it...

... as Curt did by entering this topic.

    Ponderer,
His supporters are no smarter. They won't criticize or question his policies no matter the inconsistencies and obvious harm.

Y'know, and I think we all know this: The only US president ever to handle immigration effectively was your "dithering and diminished" "feckless dementia-ridden piece of crap," and, after he won 87% of Primary votes, y'nes put him out to pasture so that your smoke-filled room string-pullers could attempt to foist the Day Drinker on voters.

    I just don't get it.

  11. by Curt_Anderson on June 15, 2025 3:16 pm
Actually, Donald Trump won 76% of the popular vote in the 2024 Republican presidential primaries.

  12. by HatetheSwamp on June 15, 2025 3:19 pm

... and, he didn't get my vote.

But, because democracy matters among the party that is the home of openness and inclusion, acceptance, tolerance, diversity and freethinking, Trump became the nominee...

    ... and, winner in November.
