Agree 100%, but I would add that is how EVERY president has been and how our government in general has always treated veterans. The facts are right there - we KNOW without any doubt that the Nixon administration prolonged the Vietnam war long after they figured out the war was unwinnable. Estimates run as high as 50,000 men being injured anad/or killed after we knew that.
Since the WWII generation aged out of being president - how many presidents served in the military? Only one - George W. Bush - and there is VERY credible evidence he did not serve at all, but was AWOL for most of his enlistment. And remember what he called those that serve? "Cannon fodder". It was s joke to him. Clinton, Obama, Trump and Biden did not serve in the military yet all of them either involved the US in wars of choice or continued wars of choice while in office. In that time, very little has been done outside of genuflecting and saying "Thank you for your service" to help vets who return with PTSD, lifetime handicaps and other military related health issues.
We can also make the case that since WWII, there has not been one single conflict worthy of military engagement by the US. The military has become nothing more than a money machine for the MIC - trading lives for dollars. So I put the question out there - WHY would I sign up being smart enough to know all that before reaching the age of enlistment? To serve my country? The only people I would actually be serving is the weapons manufacturers and no one else - hence the treatment vets get from the government. Trump understands what a sham it is - so of course he doesn't care (like every other president before him).
There are MANY better, safer ways to actually serve the country than putting your life on the line for somebody else's bottom line.
