New jobs numbers are out, and they're much better than expected. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employers added 139,000 jobs in May, surpassing expectations.

Analysts and President Donald Trump believe the number could have been even higher.

The prediction was off, they usually are. It's not an accomplishment. May employment was less than April, April was less than March. Each of those months were less than half of December 2024. The sectors of health care and social assistance added 78,000 positions, leisure and hospitality was at 48,000.
