Trump blasted Walmart after the retailer warned it will raise prices due to tariffs.
The company is the latest to warn consumers could face higher prices because of Trump's new duties on imports.
Walmart's CFO told CNBC the company is pleased with the progress in trade talks but that duties are "still too high."

Walmart and all the other grocers should eat the cost because all they'll be "eating" is the false covid "inflation" price increases they invented to boost profits a couple years back. What goes around comes around. by Curt_Anderson on May 17, 2025 11:51 am Well, you may, but I don't agree with Trump. Walmart has already said that they will absorb some of the cost of the tariffs. Trump, as a candidate had promised he would raise tariffs. People who voted for Trump voted for those tariffs. Having to pay more for commonly bought goods is a great way for them to get a practical lesson on how tariffs cause prices to increase.
