It's interesting.

Certainly, it's significantly bipartisan. I've picked up shades of concern and interest between the parties but the questioning is substantially unified in a search for truth.

The GOPs are a little more frenetic in pushing administration officials...and Biden's guys do seem a little protective of him at times...

... sort of like when we were with dad when we were trying to shield him from the consequences of his dementia.

In other words, these generals and other military people, all of whom are under oath, are answering questions honestly and factually---which tends to protect Biden from criticism.

In my opinion, with a few moments, when they seem to try to avoid their own culpability for the Afghanistan fiasco, and to shield Joe from responsibility.

    Curt,

Are you watching? Did you see General Miley tap dance around questioning regarding his phone call to China in which he, reportedly, assured China he'd give a heads-up if the US attacks?

  4. by Curt_Anderson on September 28, 2021 12:15 pm
    HtS,
Yes, I am watching. You and the Republicans have it exactly backwards. Gen. Milley assured his Chinese counterpart that Trump had no intention of launching a nuclear attack on China. That's what I hope that our government does: de-escalate tensions and reduce the possibility of an accidental nuclear war or nuclear war by misapprehension.

    Curt,

You are so sycophantic and credulous. I heard what he said. He's been blasted by several of the GOPs for being, essentially, a publicity whore. And, I think they've got a point.

I've never known a Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff to have made himself the story like Miley has.

BTW, since you're watching which GOP called on Milley and Austin to resign. I was distracted when that happened but my ears perked up when I heard it.

Yes, this grandstander and prominent insurrection supporter called on Gen. Milley to resign. I didn't hear a request today that Defense Secretary Ausin should resign.
