Inflation eased after Trump's 'Liberation Day' tariffs, defying fears

Egg prices fell 10% in April compared to the previous month, offering some relief for shoppers, data showed. Still, egg prices stand much higher than they did a year ago.

By contrast, gasoline prices dropped 12% over the past year. The nationwide average price of a gallon of gas is $3.15, AAA data shows.

Trump's tariff escalation, announced April 2, set off concern among economists and consumers about a possible burst of inflation, since importers typically pass along a share of such taxes in the form of price hikes.

    There are many elements that were ignored in your post.

    First, inflation after 2021 was pandemic-related. Second, oil prices are not affected by Trumponomics. They are set by Cartel, which controls most of the world's production. Third, inflation increased in April, not decreased as your post suggests, but does not say. The rate of increase slowed.

    Tariffs have not been in effect for long enough to show the inflationary effect.

    If you would actually read what happened, the money was given to the states (who wanted the money) to set up. The money's gone and what was built were 8 charging stations. Had you actually read the post, this was started in 2021, so your pedodaddy had the run of DC. Had he actually been able to think effectively.

    Actually, Testifying at Maxwell’s trial in New York City, the woman, who is being identified by the pseudonym Jane, said on cross-examination that she met the future president in the 1990s at Mar-a-Lago, his resort in Palm Beach, Florida.

    Jane didn’t allege any improper behavior by Trump and didn’t go into further detail about why she was at the resort.

    The average price of a dozen Grade A eggs fell by more than 12% during the month, the largest monthly decline since 1984, and the first month-to-month drop since October, according to Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) data released Tuesday.

    The price of meats, poultry, and fish fell by 1.6%, while cereal and bakery items fell by 0.5%.

    Grocery store prices overall declined more in April than they have since September 2020, shortly before pedojoe took office. Five of the six major grocery store price indexes dropped, with non-alcoholic beverages being the only one to increase.

    A dozen eggs cost less than $1.50 when pedojoe entered office in 2021, but almost $5 when he left.

    I don't even see the point of this thread. What is happening, apart from eggs, is happening in every developed country. It is Pandemic inflation and its aftermath.

    Eggs are a separate issue. More than 30 million egg laying hens were culled in the US because of the H5N1 virus. That is more than 500 million eggs a month fewer.

    Of course, they will cheapen as the supply gets back to normal and on its way there.
