I just want drug costs to be where they were in the last trumpster administration. They doubled under pedojoe.

  2. by Indy! on May 13, 2025 7:12 am

Classic GOP bait and switch and of course the two Fox clones bought it...

    From Brown Shorts' source...

"The order asks for drug companies to voluntarily lower their prices within 30 days, so the U.S. is paying the same amount that other wealthy countries pay for similar medications -- the "most favored nation" policy. In return, the White House will support U.S. pharmaceutical companies in extracting higher prices from other countries.

So if the drug companies make our prices the same as other countries - the orange ass monkey will then extract higher prices from other countries so we will continue to pay way more than the drugs are worth.

IOW - for the hard of learning - we'll be paying the same thing (or probably MORE) thanks to your Tangerine (economic) Terrorist.

  3. by HatetheSwamp on May 13, 2025 7:42 am

    Indy!

You really lost your mind when you gave your heart to Kammy.

    You're becoming a po clone.

Drug prices did not double under Biden, OD. They reduced. If you can work it out, you will see that insulin increased dramatically under Trump 1 and reduced under Biden. Though Prices overall did not increase under Trump 1.

Why do you post such clear misinformation? Is that why you do not give an=y supporting link?

    meagain,

OD's purchasing medications from US sources.

What I know is my actual cost. Pedojoe lowered the price of "only" 10 drugs. The rest of them went up. The ones pedojoe lowered (substantially, by the way) are:

    Eliquis, a blood thinner
    Xarelto, a blood thinner
    Januvia, a diabetes drug
    Jardiance, a diabetes drug
    Enbrel, a rheumatoid arthritis
Imbruvica, a drug for blood cancers
Farxiga, a drug for diabetes, heart failure and chronic kidney disease
    Entresto, a heart failure drug
Stelara, a drug for psoriasis and Crohn’s disease
    Fiasp and NovoLog, diabetes drugs

I don't use any of those drugs, nor their generic.

Call us when the Homeless Hairdo actually DOES lower the price. Because all he is saying there is he wants the other countries to pay the SAME HIGH PRICES we are. The two Fox MAGAts just buy whatever Hannity and Jackie Watters tells them to believe. But read the story and it's clear - the only people he's "looking out for" are the wealthy pharm companies. Not you and me.

  9. by meagain on May 13, 2025 10:45 am
So Biden doubled drug prices because some you use have increased?

  10. by Indy! on May 13, 2025 11:10 am

Biden made a big deal out of lowering the price on 10 drugs when really that was what the pharms gave him simply to quell the public's demands for a more reasonable health care system. That's how it always works - the pharms/insurance companies toss a teensy tiny bone to the public every time the barbarians are at the gate.

We need that Good Earth moment.

Wrongagain- You didn't click on the video. AND I added "The ones pedojoe lowered (substantially, by the way) are..."

I do know that the drugs pedojoe lowered are some of the most expensive drugs in the US. I'm giving him credit to huge savings in these TEN prescriptions. The issue is he stopped there. My ailments are some of the most common in Medicare. So it wasn't near the slam to pedojoe that you make it out to be.

  12. by Indy! on May 13, 2025 2:25 pm

So you're mad because Joe didn't lower the price of Donepezil. Got it. 👍

  13. by tuk22 on May 13, 2025 3:29 pm
TDS is real. For the love of God just be honest that this is a huge step to reduce Rx costs. Not even your savior Bernie could do it… Feckless old nothing

  14. by Donna on May 13, 2025 3:38 pm

Trump's "policy" is toothless, a joke. None of the drug companies are going to voluntarily do ANYTHING.

And btw, I think Biden's drug price reductions were a joke, too.

  15. by Curt_Anderson on May 13, 2025 4:11 pm
    Tuk22,
If memory serves you worked in the medical insurance industry or a related field.

(CBS News)President Trump on Monday called on drugmakers to lower their prices within the next month to be closer to those charged in other high-income countries, threatening to subject them to steep caps on how much they can earn from Medicare if they fail to do so.

How will that work? While the US government can negotiate drug prices for Medicare, thanks to Biden's Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) of 2022, negotiations are a two-way street. What if a pharmaceutical company refuses to meet the price that Trump offers on a certain drug? Will the patients dependent on that drug just have to go without?

  16. by Donna on May 13, 2025 4:20 pm

"Drug manufacturers that "fail to offer most-favored-nation pricing" voluntarily will have the prices imposed on them through new rules, which the White House says it is directing the Department of Health and Human Services to propose."

I actually like Trump's proposal. It's high time that our government played hardball with the legal drug cartel.

  17. by Donna on May 13, 2025 4:21 pm

If he can pull it off. I have my doubts.

  18. by Indy! on May 13, 2025 4:21 pm

"Feckless old nothing" is also a great description for Trump, Tuk. You can't really believe anything will ever come from this when Trump himself said the real point is to raise the prices on other countries to meet our exorbitant prices on drugs.

Bottom line - it's another billion dollar gift to the billionaires. Same thing that always happens with every president. Biden's 10 drug prices being lowered was more of the same. Obama gave the country the GOP market based healthcare plan instead of universal coverage.

Two colors - one party. Nothing ever changes.

  19. by Donna on May 13, 2025 4:24 pm

LOL - the drug industry us calling Trump's proposal "socialist"!

"The drug industry has opposed "most favored nation" pricing as a "deeply flawed proposal," calling it "importing socialized medicine" and claiming it could upend small and mid-size biotech companies in the U.S."

  20. by Indy! on May 13, 2025 4:28 pm

Upending small and medium sized biotech companies would be a dream come true to companies like Eli Lilly and Pfizer. Cry me a river, billionaire murderers.

  21. by Donna on May 13, 2025 4:32 pm

It's difficult to believe anything the legal drug cartel says.

  22. by tuk22 on May 13, 2025 4:34 pm
Nobody knows Curt. We are in bid right now making our plans for 2026 and I have no information outside of a tweet basically… haven’t even looked at any articles… Actuaries seem clueless too. Guessing nothing big in Medicare until 2027.

But never have I seen price controls like this on Rx. Even if we match other countries in retail cost it’s still significantly lower for Americans especially our seniors living on social security. Trump makes moves I’m sorry yall hate him so much must suck to live with that misery.

Im loving this MAHA movement. I hope some of you can get on board with it

  23. by HatetheSwamp on May 13, 2025 5:30 pm

Good to see you back, tuk!

I was looking for the EO, just so I'm not citing someone elses' "feeling" about it. The EO wasn't anywhere I found on a short looksee. Here are some notes from MSN. Most of the rest of MSM was almost word for word from AP.

First- trumpster signed a sweeping executive order setting a 30-day deadline for drugmakers to electively lower the cost of prescription drugs in the U.S. or face new limits down the road over what the government will pay.

This may be a problem. If the latter is done, what do folks that are on social security only do when they have to make up the cost? The one's that are eating cat food and trusting the local "meals on wheels" program (I understand I just opened up another issue that I don't want to talk about here. If you're going to open up that pandora's box, start another thread)

The order calls on the health department, led by Robert F. Kennedy Jr., to broker new price tags for drugs over the next month. If deals are not reached, Kennedy will be tasked with developing a new rule that ties the price the U.S. pays for medications to lower prices paid by other countries.

I have no faith in big pharma. Under pedojoe, the courts ruled in favor of the pharma that lowering the price gave the government too much power over the industry (NOT because of joe. It's just that's how the courts ruled). So don't expect this to be much different because pharma will say the government is overstepping its authority.

  25. by Indy! on May 14, 2025 8:42 am

I hope it does work, but have no doubt it won't. For one thing, the Ds tried to allow buying drugs from other countries to create the same kind of savings and it was the Rs who shot it down (although - let's be real - neither party actually wanted it to happen). So Trump is either trying to do exactly what he said he wants to happen - other countries ending up paying the same ridiculous prices we pay (creating hge new profits for Big Pharma - or he's just pissing in the wind hoping it makes him look good to the people on the right who are finally catching onto his con.

Guaranteed Indy - as always - is right. It's another gift to Big Pharme billionaires. Whatever drugs you need will be either just as expensive as always - or go UP in price thanks to this nonsense.

  26. by tuk22 on May 14, 2025 5:17 pm
    Indy,

Perfectly reasonable to be skeptical I’m still holding trumps feet to the fire on no tax on tips, overtime, and social security. Hope you are doing well friend!

  27. by tuk22 on May 14, 2025 5:25 pm
I remember Donna Pttp crap! Who’s who? Totally forgot. One was passionate AF the other more laid back sorry getting old

  28. by Curt_Anderson on May 14, 2025 5:47 pm
    Most Popular Expensive Generic Drugs
Drug name Average monthly cash price
    Tadalafil $518
    Zolpidem $296
    Diclofenac sodium $277
    Estradiol $252
    Sildenafil $248
    Celecoxib $210
    Valacyclovir $192
    Amphetamine salt combo XR $190
    Paroxetine $188
    Levetiracetam $186

So if you are not covered by Medicare or some other insurance, currently you'd be paying the above prices. Does the government negotiate a better prices on drugs like those above and distribute those drugs to patients for free or at discount? That sounds like socialized medicine which I thought Republicans opposed.

The only thing you have to remember regarding Trump is that whatever idea he's promoting, it's designed to increase his personal wealth with absolutely no regard for how it will affect others.

  32. by Indy! on May 15, 2025 9:20 am

    Bingo.
