Trump blames Biden after GDP shrinks in first quarter, says growth will 'take a while'
President Donald Trump blamed former President Joe Biden and defended his sweeping tariff plans after new data showed the U.S. economy contracting last quarter.

Trump cautioned that his promised economic "boom" will "take a while," telling people to "BE PATIENT!!!"

Other data showed private payrolls rose by just 62,000 in April, far below expectations.

Trump's claim that the negative GDP and subsequent market declines were a result of Biden's policies is inaccurate.

    But, Curt! Congress hasn't even passed Trump's Big Beautiful Bill. He's treading water until then.

    I don't see how you can praise Trump or blame him yet,...

    I gave you a link. If Politico is wrong, what is in the "big beautiful bill" that you think will save Trump's reputation?

    If Trump is lucky, Congress won't pass the bill. Red state residents are also on Medicare, get SNAP, have government pensions, etc.

    Are you aware that The Big Beautiful Bill has yet to be passed by Congress and signed by the President?

    Yeah, I know. I actually read the article. Steve Scalise said elsewhere that they hope to pass it by Memorial Day.

    Were y'nes in charge, the bill with all your president’s hopes and dreams might be possible. But, remember pb's litany: The GOP is the home of [and, wait for that last quality on the list] openness and inclusion, acceptance, tolerance, diversity and... friggin FREETHINKING!

    Trump's been promising since the escalator in 015 that he ain't touchin Social Security.

    So,... enjoy the moment. GOPs are not going to commit suicide, even if you want them to.
